In the women's 5000, Elle St. Pierre lowered her pb from 14:58.17 to 14:34.14 and won as Venezuela's Joselyn Brea set a South American record in 2nd (14:36.59).

Katir ran a Spanish record to beat Stewart McSweyn and assert himself as a medal contender in Tokyo, while Bromell rebounded from a loss in Monaco to soundly beat the men’s 100 field.

Grace was only 7th in the 800 at the Olympic Trials, but four days (and almost 5,000 miles) later, she won her first career Diamond League. McSweyn ran 3:48.37 to break Craig Mottram's Aussie record as Eilish McColgan broke Paula Radcliffe's 5000 record by running 14:28.55 behind Hellen Obiri's victory.

There was more fast action in Boston on Friday night highlighted by deep men's 5000m where the top-6 ran under 13:14. Two UO men ran 3:55 in the mile, Cain improved to 9:07 and Kate Grace moved to #3 on the US indoor 1000m all-time list.
