From Elaine Thompson-Herah and Sha'Carri Richardson in the 100 to Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Cole Hocker in the Bowerman Mile, the world and America's best are all in Eugene this weekend.

The meet was a bit underwhelming as Caldwell was the only athlete to hit the World Championship standard on the night. In other action, Neil Gourley took down Cole Hocker and won the men’s 1500 in 3:35.43 and Evan Jager struggled over the final 150 in the men’s steeple and Emma Coburn ran 4:09 in the women's 1500. The most entertaining race of the night may have been the B heat of the men's 800 with Cooper Teare and HS sensation Colin Sahlman.

"I really want to race the mile -- like that's where my passion is at right now," said Sahlman in a Q&A with LetsRun after being named the 2021 Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year. The day before RunningLane nationals, a high school coach wheeled the notoriously fast John Hunt Park course in Huntsville and measured it at 4935m. But that doesn't tell the whole story. *MB Is the RunningLane Course 5K? Or Is It Short?

NP's Colin Sahlman (14:03.29) was the individual champion, while twin brothers Leo Young (14:05.07) and Lex Young (14:05.49) went 2-3. Newbury Park scored 28 points to win.
