The NB 880 was recommended to me by a shoe specialist and I am very happy with the results. As a heavier runner, it gives me comfort and support, while helping reduce shin splints. I can’t recommend it enough and I have to try not to wear them when I’m not running!
Great Shoe. I used 5-6 pairs of them. Each capped out at about 475 miles.
It Is a very lightweight fast shoe, It is very good for any type of speed/ distance workout. It isn't super durable, because I am starting to get slight creases on the foam, and the rubber sole is starting to chip. It looks very stylish and cool and comes in different colors that I like. It fits great for someone with wide feet and my toe feels like it can move around great. My calves start to tighten up when I use this shoe because there isn't as much cushioning as i would like. For $115 dollars It is a great buy and you can usually get it on sale other places. It Isn't great for overpronation and doesn't fit me for that because I over pronate, but overall this shoe is a very flexible, lightweight, fast, responsive shoe.
I had been wearing Brooks for about 5 years previous before switching shoes. My feet had been getting wider and as a result my pinky toe would tear through the fabric on both shoes. The New Balance 880v4 was suggested to me at my local running store (Bucks County Runners). They immediately felt much better. I was training for the Chicago Marathon and the shoes held up through a summer of high mileage.
Nice shoes, confortable for putting in miles getting ready to run a marathon.
However, the outsole around the heel lasted very little compared to other shoes. After 280 miles, It gave way into the midsole on the outer heel, so I stopped using them.
