Kept me healthy which is my primary concern.
I've been running in Brooks Adrenalines for 15 years and am always happy with them. The narrow size fits my feet well and I don't have problems with my heels coming out, which happens with other brands of shoes I've tried on.
The shoe is very comfortable and provides me with the proper stability that I need for my flat feet.
Good overall training shoes. Great for long runs, doesn't have very much pop for faster uptempo type stuff. Lasted longer than I thought it would. I had to buy .5 size larger.
Essentially, Brooks Adrenaline is the only shoe I've worn for 11 years. During this time I've only had 2 running-related injuries while maintaining 40-100 miles/week, neither of which required surgery.
I once tried to switch to another shoe from another brand, and I developed foot pain almost immediately.
I don't know if there is anything special about this shoe, but it works for me.
I am now on my third pair of the Brooks Adrenaline and I absolutely love it. I trained for a half marathon in a pair and ran the half marathon in that same pair. Great comfort and an easy ride.
I have worn these shoes for years. One day I was wearing a women's 8.5 and then the next, I was boosted up to size 9. The 8.5 was too small and the 9 was too big. So strange.
I loved the previous four updates of the Adrenalines. The 15, however did not work for me. I have a narrow foot, and this shoe is too wide for me, even wearing the B width. Brooks also elevated the heel counter, which caused both Achilles tendons to become inflamed. I wear orange Superfeet, and even with the elevation provided by those insoles, the inflammation to the Achilles tendons occurred. The shoe store took the shoes back no questions asked. I was fitted for the New Balance 860 v 2, and they are okay. I hope that the next Brooks Adrenaline update proveds me with a better fit, so I can go back to the shoe I loved prior to the 15.
I loved the four previous Adrenaline models. This one, although highly rated, did not work for me. I have a narrow foot, and even wearing the B width, the shoe was too wide. The heel counter was elevated from the previous models, and caused both Achilles tendons to become too irritated for me to even walk in these shoes. I use orange Superfeet, and even with the extra height the insoles provided, the Achilles problem occurred. The shoe store took the shoes back no questions asked. I am now wearing New Balance 860 v 2, which I am not crazy about (too much cushion), and I hope that Brooks makes updates with the Adrenaline 16 that will allow me to back to the shoe I loved.
I've run in the GTS 11, 12, 13 and 14 and all of these editions felt pretty much the same to me. Obviously this new edition works for many people, but these shoes were so uncomfortable for me that I pretty much just use them to mow the lawn. First off, the sizing is about 1/2 size too small. I went running in them once in my usual 8 1/2 and got blisters on my toes. Tried a 1/2 size up and while the fit was fine, the shoe just feels way too stiff and clunky. The shoe feels like it went from being a fairly firm but normal stability shoe to a motion control space boot type of thing. I'm normally not one to complain (or write shoe reviews) but I've run in all types of shoes before and the updates to one of my favorites are just really disappointing.
