Before this year, only 17 people had ever managed to finish the notoriously difficult 100 mile race (five 20 mile loops) within the 60 hour time limit. This year, Ukrainian Ihor Verys finished first in 58:44:59 while Paris just made the cutoff by less than 2 minutes, finishing 5th in 59:58:21.
