Semenya Wins ECHR Case
- Caster Semenya Wins Appeal At European Court Of Human Rights (ECHR) Semenya was fighting against World Athletics' rules requiring her and other DSD athletes to lower their testosterone to compete in the female category. Semenya had failed her previous two legal battles and this decision was very close as a panel of seven sided with Semenya, 4-3. This may allow Semenya to eventually challenge the previous Swiss Supreme Court or CAS rulings, but as of now, the World Athletics rules remain in place.
- World Athletics Responds To ECHR Decision; Insists DSD Rules Will Stay In Place The case was against the Swiss Government, not World Athletics, so they are not bound by the judgement.
- Irish Times: "Still a long road for Caster Semenya despite winning discrimination ruling" This was a victory on paper for Semenya, but the decision will likely be challenged by the Swiss government in a lengthy legal process that means she's not much closer to actually being able to compete without lowering her testosterone.

In the women's 400H, 2015 world silver medalist Shamier Little beat 2019 world champ Dalilah Muhammad, 53.34 to 53.53
- Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Scares US 400m Record With 48.74 World Lead To Win USAs It was the fastest time since 2019 and just missed Sanya Richards-Ross' 48.70 American record. Nia Ali won the 100H in 12.37 over former WR holder Keni Harrison (12.42). Bryce Deadmon won the men's 400m in 44.22 while Sha’Carri Richardson's wind-aided 21.61 (+2.6) in the 200m prelims was #6 all-time under all conditions.
- Daniel Roberts Wins Third US 110H Title, Just Edging D2 Star Cordell Tinch Roberts won 13.05 to 13.08. Grant Holloway won his semi in 13.10, but didn't run the final (he has a bye to worlds as the defending champ) and Devon Allen was a DNS in his semi as he's dealing with an injury.
- High School Junior Mia Brahe-Pedersen Was 7th In The 100m At USAs She ran 11.08 and has a chance to be selected for the relay pool for Budapest. She also made the 200m final and finished 8th.
- USA Today Picks Their Winners And Losers From US Champs They weren't too interesting with their "losers" as Devon Allen was the only individual they singled out and he was a scratch with injury.

- Reigning World Champions Ryan Crouser (Shot Put), Katie Moon (Pole Vault) And Brook Andersen (Hammer) All Victorious In Return To Hayward Field Crouser won his 4th straight title while Moon added to her world lead with 4.90m. Other field event winners on Sunday were Valarie Allman who won her fifth straight discus title, Tara Davis-Woodhall in the LJ, JuVaughn Harrison in the HJ.

- Chris Nilsen Captures His Third Straight US Pole Vault Title As KC Lightfoot And Sam Kendricks Finish Outside The Top-3 Nilsen cleared 5.91m to win while Kendricks and Lightfoot tied for 4th on countback. Other field event winners included Rudy Winkler (hammer), Maggie Ewen (shot put), Marquis Dendy (LJ), Curtis Thompson (javelin).

- Katie Snowden Gets Shock 1500m Win Over Laura Muir At UK Champs Snowden closed the gap on Muir's surge and outkicked her in the last 100m, 4:09.86 to 4:10.24. In the 800m Keely Hodgkinson ran 1:58.26 to win over Jemma Reekie (1:58.93). Jessica Warner-Judd won the 5000m in a tactical 15:53.
- Dan Rowden Wins Close Three-Way 800m Finish At UK Champs Max Burgin went out hard at the front, but was run down by Rowden and Ben Pattison at the end with finishing times of 1:45.13, 1:45.15 and 1:45.16.
- Zharnel Hughes Completes UK Champs Sprint Double With A Wind-Aided 19.77 (2.3m/sec) Victory In The 200m The time would have been a British national record if it hadn't been slightly wind-aided. (The 19.87 record is from 1994 by John Regis.)
- Zharnel Hughes Reveals He Pushed Himself So Hard In A Workout Earlier This Year That He Had To Go To The Hospital “I push myself tirelessly. Nelly Chepchirchir dominated the women’s race 3:59.77. – the fastest time ever at altitude according to World Athletics.
- World Athletics Full Kenyan Trials Recap: Ferdinand Omanyala Dominates 100m In 9.85 (0.8m/s) 800m wins went to Emmanuel Wonyonyi (1:44.09) and Peninah Mutisha (1:59.55). Irine Kimais won the 10,000m (31:52).
- World Silver Medalist Jacob Krop Wins Kenyan Trials 5000m In 13:15.72 Over Commonwealth Games 10,000m Silver Medalist Daniel Ebenyo (13:16.05)
- Former Olympic And Two-Time World Champ Conseslus Kipruto Misses Kenyan Team For First Time Since Before 2013 Kipruto was a DNF saying he hit his knee on a barrier and couldn't continue. He hasn't raced much this season with a DNF and an 8:17 win before this. Simon Koech won the race in 8:22.55 while WR holder Beatrice Chepkoech won the women's race in 9:09.43.

- Zharnel Hughes Defies Torrential Storm To Win British 100m Title In 10.03 Reece Prescod was 2nd (10.14) and "world's fastest accountant" Eugene Amo-Dadzie was 3rd (10.18).
- Dina Asher-Smith Dodges Curve Balls To Regain Her British 100m Crown After the race was delayed because of rain affecting the electric equipment, Asher-Smith won easily in 11.066 over Imani Lansiquot (11.26). In the women's PV, Molly Caudery got an upset victory over UK record holder Holly Bradshaw and moved to #2 on the UK all-time list with 4.71m.
- Katarina Johnson-Thompson Targeting Return To World Heptathlon Podium After Finishing 4th In British Champs 100H She ran 13.34, her best time in four years. British record-holder Cindy Sember won the race in 12.98.

- Joseph Deng Breaks Australian 800m Record With 1:43.99 In France He broke his friend and training partner Peter Bol's record by .01. But Deng was actually stealing it back as he previously owned the NR when he ran 1:44.21 in 2018 to break the then 50-year-old record. At the same meet, Bol stepped up to the 1500m where he finished second, running a PB of 3:34.52 ahead of 17-year-old Cameron Myers (3:35.01).

- Mary Moraa Breaks Her Own National 400m Record To Win Kenyan Trials 400m In 50.38 She wants to run the 400-800 double at worlds and already has a wildcard entry in the 800m as the 2022 Diamond League champion.
- Nation: "Kenyan Athletes Taken Aback By New Anti-Doping Protocols" All Kenyan athletes competing at the World Trials had blood and urine samples taken the night before the meet started. Previously samples were only taken from the top athletes after competing. AIU official Thomas Capdevielle said, "Instead of running all over the country, most of the top athletes are here, hence it's convenient for everyone."

Kincaid and Cranny were incredible over the final 200m to win the US titles. 3rd placers Natosha Rogers & Sean McGorty don't have the standard and will have to wait to see if they're headed to Worlds.
Reigning US champ Cooper Teare was eliminated from the 1500 on day 1 in a shock upset as Matthew Centrowitz made the final and Yared Nuguse was sublime. In the women's 1500, Addy Wiley looked great and Athing Mu PR'd. Will Sumner returned to form in the 800 where Nia Akins looked fantastic. Courtney Frerichs fell but advanced in the steeple.
Richardson's time was the fastest by an American in 12 years.
