Wiley, who shocked the track world by last summer by deciding to attend an NAIA school instead of Colorado, shocked a field of professionals thanks to a 61.33 last lap. Full race video embedded.
She beat a field of pros (including last year's NCAA champ Melissa Jefferson) to break Briana Williams' 10.94 prep record from 2019.

- Noah Lyles, Shericka Jackson And Wayde Van Niekerk Impress At Racers Grand Prix In Jamaica Lyles ran a world-leading 200m of 19.67, Jackson won the100m in 10.78 while Van Niekerk won his 400m in 44.21. Other winners included world champ/WR holder Tobi Amusan in the 100H (12.57) and Christian Coleman in the 100m (10.03).

High school record holder Rudy Chapa had actually sent Gorze his high school singlet from 1976 to wear while he attempted the record, but Gorze fell well short of Chapa's 28:32.7. Gorze was on pace through halfway, but suffered through a coughing fit which saw him run an 82-second lap. He finished 9th in the race won by On Running's Athanas Kioko in 27:29. In other action, Colleen Quigley (9:32) and US Army's Bernie Keter (8:22) won the steeplechases and Weynshet Ansa Weldestadisk (32:40) won the women's 10,000m.
NCAA News
- USA Today: An Early Bell And Mass Confusion. What Went Wrong In The Men's 5000m At NCAA DII Champs The bell was rung a lap early, meaning runners gave a last lap kick on what was actually the penultimate lap. This had a significant impact on a visually impaired Adam State runner who didn't realize what was happening and went from 3rd to 18th place after it took him 2:53 to start running again and finish the last lap.

- Japanese Marathon Grand Champs fields are set and will feature double the numbers of 2021 even though the standards got harder for the men 29 women and 67 men have qualified for the race (just 15 and 34 did 3 years ago) although bunch of Japanese men tried to make it Ottawa over the weekend but came up short due to the hot temps. If the US had the same standards, roughly a dozen US men would have made it.

Bolder Boulder 10k
Mantz ran 29:08 to get a come-from-behind victory over Kenya's Alex Masai by 3 seconds. Kenya won the international team race ahead of Team USA.
She was just the third American to win the women's pro race, but she was not part of the winning team which was Team USA-Colorado, lead by former Colorado runner Carrie Verdon in third.
