    This Week's Pod

The crew breaks down the latest action and is joined by the 2016 Olympic tennis champ Monica Puig as she talks about Kipchoge being the GOAT of GOATS, and her transition to being a marathoner and running London and Boston in the same week.

    Another Kenyan Doping Ban

The 2019 10,000 bronze medallist and 3rd fastest half-marathoner ever was busted for an ABP violation. His agent Davor Savija has some fantastic quotes. "It is difficult and unfortunate for me to say that I find myself in a situation where my heart is broken. The heartbreak is caused by the fact that I find all of the possible outcomes of this situation leading to a major loss. If Rhonex is lying --which I do not believe is the case-- that is obviously a disaster. If all of these accusations are just a big mistake --such as a false positive ABP case or, God forbid, if AIU has 'dropped the ball'-- then all such scenarios are big losses."

Kipruto is coached by Brother Colm O’Connell (who coached David Rudisha), who says: “I carefully choose who I work with and to whom I dedicate my energy. I know Rhonex is an honest young man and it hurts me to see him suffering now.

    Week That Was

    Another Ridiculous High School DQ

The two teammates were apparently DQ'd for "aiding a runner," even though they were clearly in the lead going 1-2 in their district 3200m race. Now they won't get to race at the Colorado state meet. Whether you want to blame dumb high school rules or stickler officials, it's a senseless DQ and should be overturned.

    America's newest track star?!

Cordell Tinch of DII Pittsburg State had the performance of the week as he also long jumped 8.24m (+3.2) and cleared 2.18m in the HJ at his conference meet.

    Sad News

Bowie won three Olympic medals at the 2016 Rio Games (100m silver, 200m bronze and 4x100m gold) and was the 2017 World champ in the 100m and 4x100m. Her management company shared the news of her passing, tweeting, “We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister. Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright!”
