The reigning Olympic, NYC and Boston champ missed the NYC course record by just eight seconds when she won in 2:22:39 last year.

Six years after the final New York Diamond League, world-class track & field returned to NYC and all eyes were on Sha'Carri Richardson. Plus all 3 US Olympians battled in the 800 - Jewett, Hoppel and Murphy - and it was a battle of the Wilsons in the women's 800.

Yared Nuguse returned to good form, Hobbs Kessler didn't have the magic he had last year this meet, Emma Coburn was 5 seconds faster at 1500 than 3 weeks ago, Weini Kelati went sub 15:00 again, and others (Raevyn Rogers 1:58, Karissa Schweizer 4:00) did as one might expect.

High School Mie Record!

The time is faster than Alexa Efraimson's 4:33.29 1600m record and also converts to a 4:27.71 which is faster than Mary Cain's 4:28.35 high school mile record. Wiley's previous PB was just 4:37.98.

50th NYC Mini Saturday

Teferi ran 30:43 to beat out Sharon Lokedi (30:52), Keira D'Amato (31:03) and Aliphine Tuliamuk (31:08). Olympic marathon champ Peres Jepchirchir finished 5th (31:19) after a mid-race fall.

Washington’s Haley Herberg tried to make things interesting by grabbing a 26+ second lead early but Chelangat ended up running the final 6 laps solo en route to her first NCAA track title.

The favorites all advanced in the distance races as Julien Alfred and Abby Steiner ran very fast and Camryn Rogers and Adelaide Aquilla broke NCAA records in the hammer and shot put respectively. Plus we break down the 800, 1500 and steeple semis.

The NCAA 1500/mile record curse lives on. The last nine men to break the NCAA 1500 or mile record have all failed to win that event at NCAAs in that season. Kipsang wasn't the only 1500 stud to go home early as 3:34 man Anass Essayi of South Carolina also was eliminated. The other favorites looked good including 800 world leader Moad Zahafi.

Letensebet Gidey (30:44) was the top Ethiopian across the line in 30:45 to punch her ticket to Worlds as former WR holder Almaz Ayana returned to the track for the 1st time since 2019 but didn't make it as she was the 5th Ethiopian (30:48). In other action, Faith Kipyegon won the 800 over world champ Halimah Nakaayi (2:00.36 to 2:00.87), Mondo Duplantis won the PV (6.01), Anderson Peters broke 90m again (90.75), Femke Bol set a meet record in the 400h (53.94), and world champ Peruth Chemutai won the steeple (9:14.00).
