I would have loved to have come out here and win but Ellis did really well and deserved it. ...I’m just taking one race at a time. From today it looks like there’s a lot more work to be done.”

Kejelcha beat Nicholas Kimeli by two seconds, making this the first time two men have gone sub-13 in the same road race. Kandie won over a deep field which saw five men go sub-27. Senbere Teferi (14:37) and Fentaye Belayneh (30:24) won the women's 5k/10k. Matthew Kimeli (59:30) and Tigist Assefa (67:28) won the half-marathons.
