- Is the British Virgin Islands Adaejah Hodge the next sprint star? At age 16, she had quite a Carifta Games as she was the star of the meet, winning the U17 titles in the 100 (11.29) and 200 (23.42) and long jump (6.20w). That 11.29 is their national record.

Oregon Relays Are Friday-Saturday
Meanwhile, a week later, the OAC team will be doing the same thing at Penn. The 15:49.08 record (3:57.27 per man) was set in 1985 by the Irish team of Eamonn Coghlan, Marcus O’Sullivan, Frank O’Mara, and Ray Flynn. Oregon is also entered and going after the 16:03.24 collegiate record which was set in 2009 by Matt Centrowoitz, Andrew Wheating, Galen Rupp and Shadrack Biwott. There will be other competitive distance races as well including the men's steeple which has seven runners between 8:16 and 8:21 and the 1500 which has four 3:36 or faster men.

The middle miles were the fastest in race history and the finish was one for the ages as there were 7 lead changes in the final 1.2 miles.
Evans Chebet blasted a 13:55 5k from 35k to 40k to get the win in Boston as Scott Fauble executed a great race to be first American in 7th in 2:08:52 .
Fauble took a risk by leaving HOKA and entering 2022 unsponsored with new coach Joe Bosshard. On Monday, it paid off with a 2:08:52 pb.

The American record holder at 5000 reacts to the Canadian record holder at 5000 leaving the Bowerman Track Club, saying in part, "I never wanted to have a negative impact on anyone in my decision to continue training and it hurts that I’m finding out that I did."
