Fisher ran a 13:10 2nd half and came from behind in the final 200 to edge Mo Ahmed (26:34.14) for the win.
- Jack Rayner Breaks Australian 10,000m Record With 27:15.35 At Sound Running Patrick Tiernan had the previous record of 27:22.55, set at the same track in December 2020. (Tiernan finished 14th in this race with 27:45.95.)

- Chris Nilsen Sets North American Indoor Record With 6.05m At The Perche Elite Tour Meet In France The mark also puts him tied for 5th on the indoor all-time list. Slovenia's Tina Sutej won the women's competition in a NR 4.80m. Nilsen also won at the Paris Indoor Meet a day later with 5.88m.

This is an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING read. Michigan's Geoff Burns thinks BU is so fast as it a) has wood boards and b) has a high bank (18% vs 10% on most tracks) that is c) asymmetrical (it reaches its peak early in the turn, not the middle and then tapers off late). It's so fast that he wouldn't rule out Tim C or Jakob breaking 3:40 in the mile on it.

World Indoor Tour Gold Comes To A Close
Spain's duo of Adel Mechaal (7:35.26) and Mohamed Katir (7:35.73) were 3rd and 4th. In the men's 800, Elliot Giles broke the MR (1:45.43) and Gudaf Tsegay won the women's 1500 in 3:57.38. This was the final gold event before World Indoors and Ethiopian athletes won the wildcard in the women's 800, 1500 and 3k as well as men's 1500 and 3000 (standings here).

- With Late Point Surge, Arkansas Men And Women Overtake Florida To Sweep SEC Indoor Champs The men only beat out Florida by 9-points while the women pulled away to win by 30.5. South Carolina's Anass Eassayi won the mile in 3:57.37 as the top-8 all went sub-4. Ole Miss men and women swept the DMR titles with 9:30.32 and 10:56.39.
- Kentucky's Abby Steiner Runs Collegiate And American Record 22.09 To Win SEC 200m Not only did she break the 26-year-old US record, but she is now #2 all-time behind Jamaica's Merlene Ottey (21.87). Steiner also finished third in the 60m (7.19) and ran on Kentucky's #3 all-time 4x400m (they ran 3:25.43, but finished 3rd as Arkansas and Texas A&M also broke the previous record). *Race Video

- Arkansas Women Break The Collegiate Indoor 4x400m With 3:24.09 To Win At SEC Champs Their anchor, Britton Wilson, split 49.83, the #2 all-time split in NCAA history. Behind Arkansas, Texas A&M (3:25.43) and Kentucky (3:25.89) also broke the previous NCAA record.
- Florida's Anna Hall Scores 4618 Points In Pentathlon (#8 In US History); Ole Miss Sweeps DMR Titles At SEC Indoor Champs 9:30.32 and 10:56.39 won the DMRs for Ole Miss while Alabama's Mercy Chelangat (15:43.64) won the women's 5000m and Arkansas' Patrick Kiprop took the men's race in 13:49.09 after Alabama's Hillary Cheruiyot ran 13:44.76, but was DQd.

- Texas Sweeps Big 12 Men's And Women's Team Titles For Second Year In A Row Texas Tech was a close runner-up for both the men and women (16-point loss on men's side, 12-points on the women's). OSU's Alex Maier ran won the 3000m over Wesley Kiptoo (7:48.73 to 7:50.43). Texas' Johnathan Jones set a world best ...in the 600 yard (1:06.68).
- Texas' Yaseen Abdalla And Iowa State's Cailie Logue Win BIG 12 5000m Titles Abdalla ran 13:33.26 to win over NCAA champ Wesley Kiptoo (13:40.77). Abdalla's time broke the 13:3823 meet record which was set by Adam Goucher in 1998.

- Virginia Tech Men Roll To ACC Indoor Title; Duke And Virginia Tech Tie For Women's Crown The women's competition was super tight as only 11-points separated the top-4 teams. Virginia Tech women won the DMR in 10:53.75 as the top-3 broke 11min. Iowa's Lindsey Butler won the 800m in 2:01.23. FSU's Trey Cunningham ran 7.40 in the 60H prelims to move to #2 on the NCAA all-time list and then won the final in 7.42.
- MB: WHAT HAPPENED TO YARED NUGUSE??????!!!!!!! ACC DMR Nuguse apparently went out hard as the anchor leg of Notre Dame's DMR (54 first 400m) and fell on the final turn just as he was being caught by Virginia Tech. Nuguse only split 4:00.89 and Notre Dame finished second to Virginia Tech. *Video

- Iowa Men Go Back-To-Back At Big Ten Indoor Champs They beat out Ohio State by 15-points. USTFCCCA pointed out that while no one had ever gone sub-4 at this meet (the previous meet record was 4:00.56 by Kevin Sullivan from 24-years-ago), six men did it in the prelims on Friday.
- Minnesota Women Defend Their Big Ten Indoor Title They beat out Ohio State by 8-points. Ohio State's Anavia Battle won the 200m in 22.39, #4 on the NCAA all-time indoor list.

- Oregon, Oregon State And Stanford All Go Under 11-Minutes In The PAC 12 Invitational DMR Oregon took it in 10:57.28. Colorado's Andrew Kent (13:43.08) and Oregon's Alessia Zarbo (15:50.15) won the 5ks. *Results

MacLean beat her training partner for the first time in 16 attempts while Josette Norris edged out Purrier St. Pierre for second by .01.
The big names made it to the 800m finals, but Brazier was DQ'd then put in the 400 m final a day later.
