Love the race by Young. If you think you're the best, throw down and make them prove otherwise.
he also led his team to a national championship
Baby nationals. Wake me up for Footlocker.

Baby nationals, and yet, a much more competitive & better field than Footlocker.
footlocker>>nxn for me too. There just isn't enough history behind the nike race and I really really prefer the footlocker format.

Who would have guessed the boys race would be the one that was absolutely dominated by an individual while the girls race had a super exciting finish!

I like Footlocker more because of the history and all of the great who ran, but NXN is currently better. We need to find a way to combine these, adding the team element to Footlocker, but maintaining the history alongside NXN's

The same for me.
With both Footlocker and Nike competing to get kids to run their events it waters down the competition for each of them. It's getting to sound like boxing with the WBC, WBA, IBC, and a whole host of others. On top of that, some kids that placed very high at their State meet choose not to compete due to the expense of travelling to the qualifiers.

Agree. The problem is that Nike doesn’t need Footlocker, they have the funds and the popularity is shifting in their favor so I fear that Footlocker is most likely going to die out in the coming decades. Kids want the gear and the experience of saying they went to a Nike national competition, it’s cool and the experience is marketed extremely well, plus there’s the incentive of having all the Nike pros to meet and the team aspect is the final nail in the coffin.
I checked results all the way back to 2012 and that was the largest winning margin ever at NXN. What’s more impressive is that it may also have been one of the strongest fields the meet has ever assembled. Nobody can doubt Young from this point forward. Also congratulations to California, who went 1,2,8 as a state. Who’s the best XC state in the nation again?

If anyone else(i.e. California haters) wants to check results before 2012 to see if there is a larger gap then go ahead. The fact that NXN has only recently become as important as footlocker is good enough for me.
Nykie svcks; they cheat, they’re not a good face for the sport. I feel sorry for ALSal and all their poosie druggy athletes

Futsum won by 24 seconds in 2011.
https://www.flotrack.org/articles/5024397-nike-cross-nationals-boys-results-nxn-2011NXN has surpassed FL in quality.
How would Nico Young do against JI who just won his fourth U20 European Championship in Cross (with a margin of 38 seconds)?

Like I said, the fact that NXN has only recently become as important as footlocker in recent years is good enough for me. Remind me who got 1st and 2nd at footlocker that year?
