Lelisa Desisa says Bekele can go sub 2 in the marathon: "Next he break sub 2:00"

Lelisa Desisa was in good spirits after winning the World Championships and becoming the first man to win the NY, Boston, and World Championship marathons.

LetsRun.com asked Desisa what he thought of Kenenisa Bekele running so fast in Berlin last weekend, 2:01:41. Desisa said they had been training together. "He is back to being great champion. I think he is happy for me. I'm happy for him. Next, he break sub 2."

Then asked if he could break sub 2 as well, Desisa said, "I am the same to him. "

Desisa says he still is planning on doing NY next month and will be fine after 1 week of training.

If Bekele try to break 2 hours on Marathon at Berlin next year, he won't be at the olympics so he could get a chance at a gold medal

I'll never doubt Bekele again after the Berlin race. Age 37 and still churning out times, even after setbacks for many, many years. I think he can match whatever Eluid puts out time wise with respect to sub-2 attempts are concerned. Bekele is a gamer, he will rise to the occasion.

I think it's possible to run both Tokyo Oly and Berlin. There are about 6 weeks between them I think.
