Don't care about 1500m anymore.. You know how it is going to end.
women's 100m hurdles ( I want to go with mcneal, but she is not in form this year. Harrison has been killing it, as well as Nia Ali.
- Harrison
- Ali
- Mcneal.
Mcneal's is usually the fastest to clear the hurdles, where harrison is the fastest in between the hurdles ( killer 100m speed). However, mcneal has not been clearing hurdles well as of late. Without that, no way she beats harrison......but I hope she surprises me.

Rumors is that their coach does not allow them to compete against each other until Worlds.
I do not see it listed on the Olympic Channel live is there a live broadcast available?
thanks

Women 800m, I would like to see faster than what you stated, first 400m. How they get there is important. I do not want the women to go out in 27.5 first 200m, the race 30 seconds next 200m. I'd like to see the women go out the first 200m, 27.75 and the hit 400m in 56.75. Women 800m runners need to race like it is 1976!
yeah, why speed up the 5th 200?

That's fairly useless. Why couldn't they get a second pacer? What's the point in going 1500m at close to WR pace, if there is no further pacing and the pace will almost certainly drop considerably because nobody wants to burn herself out as an inofficial pacer? Hassan and Klosterhalfen might be in European record shape (sub 14:22) but then you'd need decent pacing up to 3k in 8:35-40, not superfast first 3-4 laps.
M 1500. Only race that matters here. Gonna be crazy! Carnage!
It depends ... wrote:

You forgot that nobody can eat sufficient amounts of beef to get to the levels of the 1976 800m women!
I'll be in the stadium.
Weather will be a bit chilly (around 18°C - perfect for distance and mid-distance though) and it could rain after 9 p.m.
I ran on the track while still competing, it remains a very fast track.
Interesting to see if Timothy can follow the pacemakers (he has apparently asked for the fast times himself). If he can it might end up with a PB.
Also interesting to see if Jakob can challenge Timothy this time. Opposite DL Paris where Jakob and Filip ran on tired legs they have reportedly prepared for this meeting by cutting back on the training and putting in some speed work.

for many of them, running a 2:17.0 is more a matter of "how" than "why," regardless of pacing.
World lead this year is 2:16.51, by Ayanleh. Bram Som has never ran a sub 2:17 1000. Who the hell is this pacesetter?

I'll be there too. Was in Zurich last week which was honestly one of the best atmospheres I've experienced at a sporting event in some time. Curious to see how Brussels compares.
Also find the pacing of the womens 5000 odd. Given the money on the line I could see it going out hot then cooling down before picking up for the final km. The slower it gets the more it plays into the hands of Hassan.

Pacesetters for 1500 are Timothy Sein and Boaz Kiprugut
between the two of them they've run a sub 1:45 800 once, at altitude. Those 1500 rabbit splits are pure fantasy.
I'd like to see the women go out in 50, but I feel like the decision has been made.

I loved it last year ! But I was just in front of the high jump pits where our Nafi was jumping so the crowd was obviously super excited about her, and during the men's high jump there was half-bearded Tamberi who's a real showman. It helps for the atmosphere. Plus we had that amazing 5k men. They also made a parade with all the Belgian sportsmen and women that were European/World champions (national T&F stars like Thiam and Koen Naert but also gymnastics champion Derwael or hockey players) and as a Belgian who likes many sports I found that part was pretty cool too.
This year I'll be in the opposite side, in front of the pole vault pit. Places almost offered by my bank (paid 2 €) so I couldn't choose.
Sad to say that the very same bank sells tickets for the national games of soccer team Anderlecht for 5 €. It thus seems that a regular soccer Belgian game is more valuable to them than the Diamond League Final. I guess it tells a lot about the current state of Track-and-Field.
