Yea , been running 50+ years and the hip arthritis in let hip has caused a bad gait and now runners knee in opposite leg with bursitis. Gotta say the bike is my new addiction. It is just a battle running . Took some days off running. OK a week , it helped ran 3 yesterday and 3+ today and everything hurts again . Might need to just bike for a month . Just that a mix of road biking with cars and on the trainer in the hot garage watching bad Netflix shows for 200 miles a week just ain’t running . Rant over.
Hi, BRLT, I know it's an old post but I've seen your other post in which you said your symptoms mimic greater trochanteric bursitis which caught my attention, because like you, I have also been dealing with side hip pain for quite some time (almost 3 years), and I'm only 27.
I don't have the groin pain which is a tell-tale sign of hip arthritis. I can put on shoes easily (can do pistol squats actually), but my side hip pain never goes away even with rest, and been to several doctors and PTs. I wonder if you can please shed some light on that, like what symptoms other than side hip pain do you have? (e.g: limited hip internal rotation, hip labral tear...etc)
I really want to run, albeit being slow, but I dare not do so because of the fear that it may make things worse.
