Trying to brainstorm a workout for this Saturday, with a goal 5k coming up 15 days after it. I realize something like 6-8 x K makes a lot of sense, but I'm thinking about being more creative with something like:
1 x 400 @ mile, 4 x 1000 @ 5k, 2 x 400 @ mile
The idea with this workout would be to simulate how races occur (fast start, settle in, fast finish).
Thoughts? Is there a better 5k prep workout or am I overthinking this?
