How in the world is that possible? I didn't get up to watch so if you have insight let me know.,
Were any of our big guns missing? I mean our 4 x 100 mens team was Mike Rodgers, Justin Gatlin, Isiah Young and Noah Lyles.
And can we all admit it's stupid as hell to run the men's 4 x 400, women's 4 x 400 and mixed gender 4 x 400 back to back to back? At least at the Olympics they are scheduling it so the big stars can run both.
In the men's 4x 400, the US was run down on the anchor, but then DQd. What was the DQ for?
And why wouldn't we anchor Fred Kerley? The best guy needs to anchor. Period.
Update: On the 2nd page. Rojo updated his rant with some stats:
know that but I don't get how we lose 4 x 400s. I guess not having Norman hurt. Why didn't Norman go? Or did he run something else?
The US had 6 of the 20 fastest men in the world last year in the 400 - Michael Norman (#1), Fred Kerley (#8), Nathan Strother (#9), Paul Dedewo (#11), Kahmari Montgomery (#14), QUincy Hall (#16). The next most was Jamaica and Qatar with 2. 10 other countries had 1.
For the women, we had 6 of the top 10 in 2018 in the 400 (Wimbley #3, Irby #5, Ellis #6, McLaughlin #7, Francis #7,Beard #8). Four other countries had 1. How do we lose that event?
Brazil won the men's 4 x 100. Here are the world ranks of their fastest people on the year last year:
#29 (10.02), #45 (10.08), #54 (10.10) and #4 (10.12A)
