Big win at CIM today. I see he ran 62:xx at the Indy half.
Letsrun what is the story with this guy?

His name is quite google-able. Have at it and report back to this thread.
I'll get you started. He ran at Drake, and he made his marathon debut in the 2016 Oly Trials.

A quick TFRRS search shows that he ran for Drake and graduated with PRs of 13:59/29:32 on the track. It looks like his best collegiate race was probably the 30:16 that he ran to claim 6th at the Midwest XC Regional his senior year.
He has taken to the roads very well. Good for him.
Coached by the Tinman coach Tom Schwartz. I don’t think he trains with them in Boulder, though.

How does a nobody with no sponsorships win one the most competitive marathons in the US?
Gotta say - hats off to him
He is sponsored by Rabbit running.
And I think live in Iowa (Des Moines?) since he has a 9-5 job.

Gotta love it , straight out of the Brian Sell/ Jared Ward legacy . Great to see a blue collar guy win

Sponsors don't run the race for you.
Remember Reed Fischer taking the lead in the USA 10k last summer and finishing 4th? He ran at Drake with Austin. Strange thing is that Mark Carroll is the coach at Drake but he wasn't the coach when these 2 guys were competing there. Did anyone notice that Drake was leading Iowa State in football until the last minute of the game yesterday even though they are a non-scholarship football program and Iowa State is a fully funded team with 85 scholarships? Drake just became a big name sports' school.
He was a several time state champ with HS PRs of 15:35 and 9:14.

Yep I did that and found what you found. Not too much. Hence the thread.

lol what? This country club event was literally one of the LEAST competitive marys in the US. This dude would have been royally cucked at Boston, NY, or Chicago.
He made $21.5k for winning.
Another 2:12 America male. Yay!
He has the right attitude, you don't have to be a "pro" runner or part of some group to run 2:12.

Your saying you are better.
Brogan a full-time job and trains mostly solo. I think he has sub 1:02 and 2:10 ability, but it may be difficult to achieve that working full-time and training alone.
His brother, Chandler, ran for Boise State. He ran 8:51 and 4:07 for 3200/1600 in high school...not sure how fast he ended up going in college.

Could it be that a training group never reached out to him???
I think he has a decent paying job. Might have chosen that and training alone over running for a team and scraping by on 30,000 per year tops:
