Maybe He was afraid it’ll stain his lifetime marathon stats... I still think he could’ve walk it in under 2:10.
Weak. No heart. No longer on the good stuff.

No heart LOL. Dude has nothing left to prove and has shown he has more heart than pretty much anyone in his career.
Should HAVE.

rupp. boston. should have walked it in. probably 3ish.
Bekele was injured in the race. He stepped on a stone 3 weeks ago and kept training throughout the pain. Nobody could have led that marathon at 30k with the same injury he had. Hermens said Bekele will be back strong. I know he can do it because he is the greatest. It was clear that Bekele would have destroyed the field when he took the lead after the pacers dropped. His hips started to hurt. If they didn't he would have blasted the last 12k and gone sub 2:04.

Pretty sure a carbon fiber plate blocks stones.

Maybe Rupp and Bekele have an internal competition within Nike athletes to see who can DNF the most and stay sponsored?

You're grasping for straws in an attempt to make your prediction of him doing well (wow, go figure) was hurt by him stepping on a stone. You do know Coaches make things up, right? You need help dude, quickly.
Hopefully he is done with the marathon the way he walked off the course. He wasn't sitting on the curb in mental anguish after DNFing...his body language said "F it...I'm outta here"
Yeah...should've fiished just for the finisher medal and t-shirt...FFS
He's no hobby jogger..
I think it's clear that he has a problem with motivation. Possibly not when it comes to wanting to race but in the months of training beforehand. Is he willing to commit to a marathon buildup of several months for a race in which he is more than likely going to be defeated - if it's one of the big marathons.
After all that he has won in his career this is perfectly understandable!

Best choice now is to retire...in his prime, he was a legend. That time is over.

I agree...i think he would rather just focus on his business rather than do a proper buildup for a race

And maybe he always was like that but could get away with it for shorter distances...who knows

Of you ever thought of trying to write proper English?
