A few weeks ago, the Oregon women seemed to take a big hit when it was announced that Katie Rainsberger (16th 2017 NCAA XC) and Lilli Burdon (21st NCAA XC) were following the Powells to UW.
Well today the Ducks picked up two studs who are transferring in from USF as they follow coach Helen Lehman-Winters:
Weronika Pyzik (5th place)
Isabelle Brauer (15th place)
So in the end that's a net gain of 17 spots for UO in the game of transfer musical chairs.

So, it's official: she moves to Oregon and Oregon's full on with the foreign students. Great pickup pragmatically but where's Oregon's mission of building American distance running? Rainsberger also has a very high ceiling, especially in track.
I think Oregon 1-5 will be very good this year Hull had a bad race at NCAA's but was right behind Burdon every race minus NCAA's. Burdon got 21th at NCAA's last year think Hull would have got top 30 with a decent race. So I think Oregon top 5 will all be top 35 this year sure New Mexico top 3 will be better then Oregon top 3 but I still think Oregon will challenge New Mexico since Oregon 4 and 5 are way better then New Mexico's? Will be fun to watch for sure. Hope Kate Murphy runs for Oregon this year but she might still be injured? GO DUCKS
The book is still open with Hull and cross country . She has a couple of shitty races . NCAA;s was a total blow out
Def a track runner at this point.
Not aware of any "mission" to build American distance running. Perhaps you're mistaking the University of Oregon with Bowerman Track Club. The University coaches' only mission is to build a strong program.

Brauer redshirted on the track last season. But the focus is on these two without really the mention of Phillipa Bowden who had some good runs on the track this past summer 9:13 3k; 15:52 5k; and 32:33 10K which is the most notable mark.
As far as Pzyek...to even qualify for NCAA final in the 10K out of the west last year was a monumental feat. That race was stupid fast all type of PRs and school records just to qualify.
Shows Oregon is officially done with being an American distance running program . Pre is rolling in his grave .

New Mexico's returning top 5 from last year are almost guaranteed to do worse. For one thing, you can't improve on #1. Not much room to improve at 6 and 9 as well. Maybe going up a couple spots max, but it's more likely for them them to fall back a little bit. Franklin definitely can't rely on going 1, 3, 5 - he's going to have to plan for probably 3, 10, 15 and find a good 4 and 5 somewhere somehow.

Agree rankings are always a crapshoot-sure New Mexico has a great top 3 but its the 4-5th runners that are key...look at Oregon 2 years ago-4th in the Pac-12 but all runners punched above their weight at NCAA's and their 5th runner beating the Michigan girl by 0.1 sec decided it...no real clear cut favourite in my opinion.

Both were top 10 at euro cross last winter in the U23 race too.
OU women never were an 'Merican distance running program. The 2017 squad had 4 internationals. 2018 roster lists; men 2 intl's, women 4 intl's
