Any ideas on what Tuohy will do next year as a junior? I say if she runs only one of FL or NXN, another new course record. High 420s in mile, 930 ish for 2 miles.

She’s going to win every distance she runs against high schoolers that is 800 meters and up.

Here are my predictions:
1 Mile - 4:26
2 Mile - 9:47
800 M - 2:04
1500 M - 4:12
3200 M - 9:35
5K M - 15:28
Bowdoin Park 5K - 16:42
NXN 5K - 16:32
I have been watching runners for over 50 years and I have not seen a runner with as complete running form and pacing as Katelyn. If she remains injury free and her coaches continue to balance her training regime, she will mature into the most dominant female middle distance runner America has ever had.

Good calls right down the line.
I can see her going a bit faster than this at some of the longer distances, but not enough to argue about it.
Well done.
Thank for your thoughts. I would not have said quite that fast for 800, but if she can in fact get to 2:04, she will be faster in the mile. From afar, I see foot speed as her limit. Her 800 numbers have not improved much relative to the longer distances over the last 3 years, but maybe this will be the year. I think she ran 2:12 in the 8th grade.
It will all depend on how puberty treats her.
I hope she is the Next Great American Female runner.

She's only raced at 800m six times in four years. She's clearly better longer, but I have to think she'd have shown more improvement with more focus on the distance.
Marginally better than last year, with a couple races slower than the same course last year causing people unwarranted freak-outs.

This is true. Not a Tuohy hater, but it will depend on the next couple of years of physical maturation and her remaining injury free. I'd be more confident of a prediction if she were hitting these times as a Junior/Senior. Good luck to her.
Well, thank god you aren't coaching her.

9:47 2-mile and 9:35 for 3200? 12 seconds is long to run 20 yards.

1500m is worth way less than the mile too.
Exposed as a guy and abused by her coach. Standard.

Looks like the poster was predicting she would run a 3200m and 1500m closer to her season peak than a 2 mile or a mile. He wasn't saying the times were equivalent.

Maybe you should thank God that there's someone here to educate you.
Burn out ahoy!
Seriously, she's toast. Training is way too intense, she's too neurotic about running, too many miles without enough focus on speed. Her crap 800 should serve as a warning. These "aerobic beasts" always hit a wall and flame out hard.
She'll run slower this year than she did as a soph. She'll be even worse as a senior.
As always, Lane is the one to watch.

I'm constantly perplexed by people calling her an aerobic monster with no speed. I think people confuse Claudia Lane with Tuohy. I've watched Tuohy race a fair number of times, and I remember one time she ran a 4x4 leg hen she was in 8th grade and she split something like a 59? That's pretty good speed for a female distance runner. I think she probably could go 57-58, and given that Houlihan gets raved about for her 55 sec HS speed in an event that she focused on shows how unfair this is to Tuohy. I hope she continues to enjoy what she is doing and is able to accomplish whatever she most desires. She's a high school junior guys, let her be one.
She's fine. Don't pay any mind to these tubby couch pilots on Let's Run.
