I'm not surprised. Their training methods are worthless.
Anyone know if she has another contract lined up? It would make sense in the wake of Boston
A rift occured after they let Ritz into the group and Desi has NOT pleased. Then openly spoke out against her own group/coaches to the media at boston. This was only a matter of time
This move isn't totally surprising.
My belief is the tension between Des and the Hansons in the buildup to Boston was much bigger than most thought. She was unhappy with Ritz being brought into the group. While the group usually trains in Florida in the winter, Des did much of her warm weather training in Phoenix. Granted John Ball, her physio is in Phoenix, but in years past she would join the group in Florida.
So for Boston, her greatest victory, she was much more on her own. Yet at the same time, the Hansons deserve so much credit for Des winning Boston, but it's not surprising now that she won, she'd move on.
Prior to winning Boston if she said she wanted to be on her own, Brooks might have pushed back, but now she can do what she wants.
Her win was great for her and for the Hansons team (and Brooks), but very few things last forever. She's still with Brooks.
Bad, bad move by the Hansons. Pissed off their best athlete over a hasbeen doper.
Seems along the lines of what we'd been hearing here in Michigan- the Ritz add didn't jive with her. Seems like she's been spending a lot of time in her Charlevoix place too- enjoying things on her own.

If she is leaving because of Ritz, I will lose all respect for Desi.
There is no evidence that Ritz has done anything wrong. NONE.
Yet Desi and many of her friends throw temper tantrums and throw innocent people under the bus.
So selfish and disrespectful of Desi to make it all about her. They stuck with her throughout bad races and hard times. They are the only reason she won Boston. To kick them aside because they signed a guy who she has a conspiracy theory about is immature, classless, and disrespectful.
I can understand that she thinks she is being true to her ideals and wants to be able to claim moral superiority, but really she is a bitter, selfish conspiracy theorist who wants to discredit the successful careers of innocent people.
There is more than “none” proof that Ritz exceeded the allowable amount of intravenous fluid for the L Carnitine injection. Do your homework.
So, where does she go now? Are there any groups she might join, or is she likely to "lone wolf" it?

This can't be the only reason she left. Mater a fact, it's not even a reason to leave. Ritz left NOP, spoke up about his situations, and probably didn't even dope, at least knowingly. He effects her in no way. They wouldn't even see each other. Desi is just being pretentious and now the Boston win is going to make her even more pretentious. She won Boston in a slow year with freak weather. It's great she won, but respect was lost before she even got on the starting line at Boston when she spoke out against her team.
You are wrong and you know it. If you had proof, you would have posted it.

Josh Cox will be taking a bigger (ha) role in her training

Sorry brother I’m out and about. Research it and if you’re incapable of finding it I will post it later. There was a whole thread here on it.
She needs to ditch Josh Cox too. Moreso than the Hansons. Get a real agent now.

The real reason: when the Hansons found out that Desi had a whiskey collection but never shared any of it with them, it created a lot of friction. This lead to a hostile relationship, prompting Desi's departure.
Just like Tori Franklin.
They were good enough for her when she was a 35 minute 10k runner. Now that she's a Boston Marathon Champion it is bye bye.
Can someone dig up Desi's old social post where at the Olympics she posted "dance with those that brought you" and a picture with the Hanson bros?
I think this has been brewing much longer. Over the last couple of years, Des has taken training trips to Kenya, presumably without the Hansons, and talked about how much she had learned from the experience. My gut feeling is that it was pretty safe to stay with the Hansons before, but she had a down-low desire to try something else. Now that she’s won Boston, she accomplished her AAA career goal, so she feels a bit freer to take a swing at a different training methodology. She has a reputation as a grinder, not a speedster, which is kind of what the Hanson approach is about, but I can’t help but wonder if she’s not totally satisfied with being put in that box. I would guess that she wants to take a shot at a fast time, and we’ll see that reflected in her coaching and race choices.
this was the easiest call ever!

Wait, you mean a thread on letsrun is sufficient reason that someone is a doper? LOLOLOLOLOLOL
You're out and about for sure!!!
