Is there a reason that to high of cadence is detrimental to your running? I was told by my coach that mine is to high and I’m possibly wasting energy. I’m at 195 average for 27 min tempo with the last 800 a lot faster.
I was always told to keep high cadence to keep from getting injured. I’m running 70-90 miles a week to whip myself into 10K shape after starting back running 10 months ago after a 18 year layoff.
Why is this a bad thing to be that high? I feel like I’ll get injured if I slow it down and start floating more. At this point with the amount of mileage I’m running all I see is getting injured with the increased impact to my already shin splints I have been fighting since day 1. Had them at 4 miles a week and 84 miles a week. So the too much to soon is BS.
Why is having a 195-200 cadence bad on tempo runs
