Congratulations

Congratulations
Was hoping for a live official thread! Looks like Nick sat on Malcolm for 111 laps before Malcolm slowly pulled away.
Here is an article on the race:
There were only seven individuals. How can a sister get in there? Only two women and they paid three deep!
Malcolm and Brian Harvey are two tough SOBs.
Hold on!
Were either of them lapped at any point during the race?

Yes, Richards lapped himself. First time that has happened indoors.
I'm not here to hate. But i'm honestly curious, why are the track times so crappy? Both of those times are extremely moderate and are run by athletes who would be dead last in a race like the OT's. It's a lot easier running around a track than running a road marathon as well. I feel if you took any 2:50 marathon women or 2:25 marathoner male they could shatter these records. What's the point? I bet that a 11 year old Kenyan could crack both these records.
Richards has run 2:13, so I struggle to see how a 2:25 marathoner could run that much faster than 2:19...

Also, Richards was 18th out of 105 athletes at the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials.
Well, yeah, they're just weak records and it's a weak event; I expect most top elites have better things to do than run an indoor track marathon. Can't speak to the men's but on the women's side, Allie Kieffer was the record holder at some point recently, with something like a 2:44, but then we all know she went on to run a breakout 2:29 at NYC. Scherf has been on the scene and strong for a while but never top of the top. Has run at least 2:34-2:35 in previous marathons and plenty of halves in the 72-75 range, so I dunno about dead last in the OT. Probably a nice opportunity for the non-world-beating elites to make some extra money and enjoy having a record for a little while.

I realize you are trolling, but never in the history of the OTs would 2:19:01 be last.
Have any of you numbnutz ran an indoor marathon? The one I did was basically a cement floor with a track painted on. Maybe an actual track would be easier but my legs started aching at 10 miles and I ejected at halfway before ending up walkjogging the last half slower than I ran my last marathon.

Way to set that idiot straight. An athlete is running a gimic event, so they must not be very good, right? In this case, FormerTree is dead wrong.

That should read Not Dun is dead wrong, my bad. In this case Bill Penn was dead wrong.
Not so easy my little friend..... wrote:

The turns are the worst part. I'm sure it could be run faster. You'd have to shock proof your cankles.
Can you qualify for the olympics or for the trials with an indoor time?
can't find it on USATF certified courses list. I'd guess it's ineligible for the Trials or Olympics.
