I got outkicked by some fat guy in a 5k last weekend in the 4%sss. he wasn't even breathing hard. Beat me out at the line in 21:45 to 21:46.

Molly Huddle beating up on Hasay
pretty sure the dubai winner was adidas?
It did look like a lot of Adidas guys in that lead pack. Maybe they have the Adidas Sub-2 shoe that's supposedly dropping in February?
And Mary Keitany at London 2017. Daniel Wanjiru beating Bekele at the same race. Peres Jepchirchir breaking the women's half marathon WR in 2017, then Joyciline Jepkosgei breaking it a few months later. All Adidas.
There are plenty on the women's side, mainly because Adidas has the fastest women distance runners currently. On the men's side, Nike has signed EVERYONE (or at least they're wearing Nikes), so it's a matter of numbers. Wilson Kipsang can't go out and race every weekend, unfortunately.. and other than him and Wanjiru, not sure who else there is. And I don't know if Guye Adola is losing to Kipchoge by seconds at Berlin strictly due to shoes.
On a more amateur or local level, it's more even spread. Marathon American Championships (Saucony), American women's 1/2 record Molly Huddle (Saucony), Ironman Hawaii marathon record (New Balance), Rock & Roll Marathons etc.
Note that despite the 4% winning a ton of races, they aren't necessarily running any faster. Rupp was like six minutes off Dennis Kimetto's record from Chicago.

...Pretty sure those look like standard Adios Boosts on most of the Ethiopians.
Same as last year.
Still the fastest shoes in actual marathon races.
....For now.

Nope. He's a Nike athlete. Wore the Vaporfly 4%.
You can't use Rupp as evidence of speed. He has no speed. He's a proficient marathoner for the 1970s, that's about it.
Dubai Winners were both 4%.. I am depressed.

They could have been only 0.4% advantage and they still would have nabbed the win in Dubai.
The only problem is the 4% are nearly impossible to buy unless you sit on the Nike website for weeks at a time and hope your size appears.
It's amazing to see so much hype and advertising into a shoe, and then you can't even buy it 10+ months after marketing started.
I'd never pay that much for a pair of shoes.
If Nike sponsored the study, you can be sure the data and conclusions are entirely inaccurate.

I’m 54, 190lbs and ran 18:21 a few weeks ago on saucony kinvara’s bought on eBay for 40 bucks, so count your blessings I wasn’t there, I would have been the fat guy that beat you both by more than 3 minutes. It’s the athlete not the shoes what makes a runner.

I know you're trolling, but I won't let it slide. Rupp is one of the fastest 10k runners in history, and even though I think he's a cheater, most of the faster times were before EPO testing. Also, no marathoner in the 1970s would have been within two minutes of Rupp in Chicago. Splits matter.

LOL. Now that is funny.
Hasay is going to kick Huddle's @ss at Boston. Flanagan probably will beat Huddle too. Vaporfly's are built for the long haul.
Several of these NYC marathoners used the 4%- add 4% to these times and they aren't too good. Hard to imagine this shoe improved their times much. Four percent off 2:33 is about Shalane's time.
Shalane Flanagan 2:26:53
Mary Keitany 2:27:54
Mamitu Daska 2:28:08
Edna Kiplagat 2:29:36
In 1970 alone Ron Hill ran 2:09.28 to win the Commonwealth Games and 2:10.30 to win Boston .
Rupp is a great athlete but he he is just not of the same caliber as today's top marathoners. There were seven runners with times over 4 minutes faster than Rupp's PR in this weekend's Dubai marathon
