Tips on buying brand names running shoes for cheap

I have a friend that gets his shoes at lasthunt.com - never really checked it out, but he swears by it.

You have to be patient to find a particular shoe at deep discount. First, you need to find a website that occasionally discounts that brand of shoe. Usually, it will be a clearance sale of last year's models. Then, visit that website every couple of weeks until they have the shoe model you want on sale. It helps a lot if you have more than one model in mind.

If you do this, you can sometimes find the shoe you want for sale in less than a year.

That may sound like a long time, but if you buy 3-4 pair at a time you can get enough pairs of shoes to last you until the next sale. If you want to look now, you could try RunningWarehouse, JackRabbit. or search for discount running shoes and check out the sites you find. I don't run in Mizunos so I don't really check out their sales.

For example, I just bought the Newton Distance V for $62 after using the FB15D discount code at Running Warehouse. It' s a $155 shoe, but last year's model.

and yes, you may have to be patient and keep googling each day for awhile.

Just don't get it confused with mikehunt.com.

Need a new trainer to put in at least a good 500 miles. Since shoes don't last me that long anymore (increased mileage) I decided on getting an older shoe. 1) When I find shoes at a low price, I buy LOTS. 7+ pairs. That way I rarely "run out of shoes" and can afford to wait for great deals.

2) When I have 3 untouched pairs left, I start searching for more shoes. I check running warehouse a few times a week, swing by a Nike outlet, set price alerts on amazon, and start stockpiling coupons. Because I still have shoes left, I can wait if prices are still too high.

3) When shoes are priced right, see step 1.

It's Canadian site and looks like the prices are great if you convert to US Dollars.
