Saw it coming but seems like a pretty lofty (unrealistic?) goal. She's run what, mid 33 on a measured official 10k? Looks like she went 31 off the bike at an ITU race but guessing those courses aren't certified.

She’s joining Bowerman TC.
who?
After Dossena's race at NYCM she has her work cut out for her to even be the best triathlete/marathoner. Good luck to her nonetheless.
A bit surprising but probably there wasnt that much motivation left as a triathlete (although it would have been interesting to see her compete against the much improved Flora Duffy).
I think she ran a low 32' in a 10k road race over the last couple of years (i think in Sydney). She got 3rd at the 10m US road champ a year ago running at around 70' HM pace.
How fast can she go all the way....
I'm stunned by this frankly - I figured she was a shoe in for Kona. Wonder why she is going this route? Is winning Kona not as prestigious as I think it is?
She's well suited to ITU draft legal racing. The bike is much more important in non-drafting long course triathlon and she isn't strong on the bike and likely wouldn't win in Kona.

She's a class act. Don't count her out.
Interesting.
At 5-10 126 lbs she is going to look like a giant next to Keitany at 5-2 93 lbs (heights and weights from Wikipedia so take them with a grain of salt).

She was 15 minutes back of Shalane. Maybe Allie Keifer can give her some tips.

Ahh it all makes sense now. She has been showing up tagged on the Bowerman babes' social media posts for weeks.
I agree Mr. Utah - She's an awsome example of American Athletics. I'm a huge fan. I'm penciling her in now for a podium finish. If I remember correctly didn't she run NYC last year on her Tri training and not much else? She was in the low 2:40s I think - If that no-name from Buffalo, NY can run a 15min PB I think Gwen with training is Hasay level in 2 years at least.

Wow, she's crazy talented runner, but this is ballsy. Good for her.

In order for her to finish on the Olympic podium, she'll first need to get to the Olympics. If she made our Olympic marathon team I'd be shocked, and very impressed.
Doens't she know that Jerry can't coach the marathon?

Yes, a great example of how to do it. Total class, great sportsmanship, talent, determination, grit, humble, etc.

When did she leave Asics?

Speculation of course, but running was always her passion. Also, as a father I can tell you it's a lot easier to fit in marathon training during given week than tri training. Easily a third of the time commitment.

Not if she wants to run 2:25. It's a different kind of time commitment, but a very significant one.
The time away from family required for proper IM training probably doesn't sound very interesting to a new mother.
She is a wonderful competitor and appears to have the same frame as Paula. I wish her the best of luck!
