So at work today, I was in a meeting, so I missed this, but there was a party going on elsewhere in the office with like 30-40 people which included random gifts.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to buy several very realistic-looking prank winning lottery tickets. By chance, a young girl in the office wound up getting one and scratching it off thinking she had just won $10,000. This girl had recently had her car stolen and was in somewhat of a tight financial situation. It crushed her to find out it was fake several minutes later.
There are several pranks that I THOUGHT were essentially off limits: deaths, pregnancies, and lottery tickets. To give someone so much joy, only to rip it away as something funny to do seems really cruel to me. These are not millionaires, they are people just trying to get by and whom could really benefit from a couple thousand dollars.
What say you? I think it was in incredibly poor taste, but I know there are some savages on this board...
