I am bigger (6-4, #200) and run through shoes about every 300 miles mainly running on asphalt. My current trainer is the Hoka Clifton 4 and after about 140 miles is showing some significant wear on the lateral heels from pronation and a bit more heel striking than I ike. I am not asking for much but to get these shoes to last me another 100-150 miles - thinking about a small amount of shoe goo on the involved areas.
I have used it for just about forever. I rotate around 5 - 7 pairs of shoes and once a week apply Shoe Goo to the outsole. I have never worn through the outsole doing this.
In warmer months if you run on asphalt the shoe goo seems to attract bits of the road and sometimes lasts far longer.
I start using Shoe Goo on new shoes once the outsole starts to get a little wear, maybe around 50 miles on them, so it has a rough surface for the product to adhere to. Once you build up a base of it then refreshing it once a week will usually do.
Being a larger runner you may only get one session out of it. It needs at least 24 hours to cure, I like to give it 48, so I goo the shoes after my long run since I take the following day off.
Use it in a ventilated room, the fumes are pretty strong.
Hope this helps...but definitely have more than one pair of shoes, I really think at least 3 pair. I stagger my purchases and don't buy them all at once.
Good luck!
