Men’s 800: Dutchman Thijmen Kupers wins as two others get World Champs standard
After failing to break 1:45 in his first 25 years on Earth, the Netherlands’ Thijmen Kupers almost did it for the second time in eight days, following up his 1:44.99 last week with a 1:45.02 victory over a solid field in this non-Diamond League event.
Ireland’s Mark English and South Africa’s Rynhardt van Rensburg didn’t PR, but both men locked down the World Championships standard of 1:45.90. Poland’s Adam Kszczot, who won in Rome last week, was only fourth.
