On saturday she ran 1:59.
Do u guys think she will break 4 min in the 1500m after running 14:51 in the 5k?
First german woman to break 2min in 800m and 15min in 5k.
PS: sorry for my bad english!

No, not yet. Everyone gets excited, but times just are not that fast yet. Remember all the guys who were going to break 13 in the 5,000 at Pre, even including Elfik Jenkins? In the end it was none. And Dibaba was going after a world record. Missed it by a mere 14 seconds. She's an amazing talent, but no.

Total nonsense. The race may not turn out to be fast, but she's obviously capable if things fall into place. As a front runner and having demonstrated great form, I'd not bet against her breaking 4 in this race. With a bit of luck her and Hassan can battle all the way to keep it fast.
1:59/14:51 surely indicates sub 4 this year.
Cain ran 4:04 with 1:59/15:45, though the latter was more of a jog.
Rowbury 2 flat/3:56/14:39
Simpson 2 flat/3:57/9:12st/14:5x? or over 15?
I think I remember Simpson going 14:57. No doubt she's capable of faster though
She may not run sub 4 in Rome bit her coach called 4 min for 1500m this year. And they are generally careful with their announcements
Her 800/5000 PRs are almost identical to Laura Muir.

Yes, I think she can do it if the conditions are right, i.e. someone to battle with all the way to the line. If KK is running solo then I'm not as optimistic.

In 2005 Maryam Yussuf Jamal ran 1:59,69/14:51,68. Her 1500m best that year? 3:56,79
In 2017 Konstanze Klosterhalfen has run 1:59,65/14:51,38. The 5k was a massive negative split with the last 3k in 8:41.
What do you think she can run for 1500m?
Muir will rewrite- big time- all her personal bests this year.
800m 1min 57 sec?
BTW, couldn't you just eat up Konstance!
Cute just doesn't cover it!

Muir's 800m pb is 2:00.42 set in 2015. She can run much faster. She ran 2:00.56 for the first 800m of her 2:31.93 1000m earlier this year.
i think she will run 3:59.xx if the pace is good.
for all interested:
here is the 800m race:
well she has the speed to be purely an 800m runner but even better endurance. i think she will!

Danke für den Link!
She maybe already is capable to run sub 4. But I'm sceptical if she will do it in Rome. Depends of some factors. Let's wait and see!
The German record is 3:57.71 from the Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow by Christiane Wartenberg.
The fastest time not from an GDR athlete is 4:01.42 from 1998 by Kristina da Fonseca-Wollheim.

3:59.3
She might be the greatest non-African born talent in history. She's everything Alberto Salazar wanted Mary Cain to be.
My goodness. Fearless racer. If it ends up that her best event is like 10k or the marathon, like it was for Paula, watch out!!!
in the race today, she passed the rabbit before 800 as 2:07.98 was too slow for her.
She got blown away by Hassan over the final 300 but still broke 4:00!!
yeah great racer. I think the longer distances will ultimately be even better for her

Zola Budd.
KK is very very exciting though. So much to come.
