Insane, and Craig Engels is back and super fit too.
Lmao

What happened to Cheserek?
Once he saw Kerr was running he faked an injury and went home

He is dodging the competition. He saw a startlist with people he couldn't beat, so he didn't show up.

Doesn't turn 20 until October. What a talent.
My guess is that Ches is satisfied with his 3:52.xx NCAA mile record. Nothing left to prove at that distance. Focus is on 5K and 10K NCAA records for the next 2 months.

Wait, I thought he was "the king"? At least, that's what Flotrack constantly refers to him when fawning all over him. Just like at NCAA indoors, he would have gotten his tail handed to him. That little arm would have flapped so hard, it might have come unhinged at the joint. Funny, Flotrack advertised this as a rematch for almost 2 weeks, and he was on the start lists. Plenty of other ducks there, but no grandpa Cheserek...
Ches was at the meet, he was down on the track watching the 1500s with other Oregon runner.
Just another british guy coming over and killin it in the US.
Funny how the Flotrack commentators didn't even make reference to the fact that Ches wasn't in the race, they acted as if he was never supposed to run.
Josh's 1500m time is more than half a second faster than Ches has ever run.
Kerr is no longer simply a championship runner.
Move over Ches
It's interesting that Kerr is running in the NCAA (and he's not American), while Hunter is not.
Time will tell who made the right decision.
Kerr coming over to college wasn't on hunters level, at this point he might be better, he's a year ahead based on his age school wise as well
Cheserek peaks for championships, and does about 1 time trial per year. Other than that he is a normal dude, and he is terrified of losing so that's why he dodged Kerr here.

So Ches is using Kip Keino's tactic?
Seriously. Ben Jipcho talked about that and so did Marty Liquori a bit in his bio. Liquori mentioned that as great as Keino was, if he was losing a race Keino would give up and claim he was just doing a workout, wasn't in shape etc. as a way of "...cheating his conqueror." Keino did this once to Liquori himself when he set out at a fast clip, started running out of gas, and slowed to a jog when he found he wasn't able to battle Liquori to the finish.
Jipcho said the same thing and noted that Keino would make up stories all the time. After losing the Commonwealth 5k on one occasion Keino told the press he'd received a "death threat" before the race but had courageously decided to run anyway. Jipcho said the story was bunk and that even Kenyan officials were chuckling with the other Kenyan athletes over the audacity of the lie. A lie the press ate up of course.
Keino. A fantastic runner but full of manure.
Cheserek. A fantastic runner but at 27 or almost 27 hardly that amazing.
