While the meet is just getting started, the pentathlon is just getting finished.
Georgia's Kendell Williams is trying to become the first athlete to win the same event all four years at NCAAs. But she's only 9 points ahead of Arkansas' Taliyah Brooks.
The 800 is the last event, starting at 5:10. Williams' PR is 2:15, Brooks' is 2:17. Brooks definitely has her work cut out for her, but it's doable.
One second is worth roughly 7 points, so Brooks doesn't need to beat Williams by much. Drama!
Brooks hung with Williams over the first two laps, but Williams made a move at 400 and dropped her easily. Georgia's Kendell Williams is your pentathlon champ and first athlete to win same event all 4 years at NCAA Indoors.
Oregon has a little bit of a dilemma in the Men's Mile. They have Cheserek, Maton and Gorman together in the first heat with only top four and next two fastest on time from both heats to advance. Joshua Thompson and Jonah Koech are also in the first heat meaning that its in Oregon's interest to push the pace, but in turn that could take more out of Cheserek. Likely won't faze Cheserek, but might be something to keep in mind.
Who is the link haver I know you got it.
Danae Rivers of Penn State loving lane 3
anyone had luck with free livestream links?
Anyone know what kind of bonus the Oregon coaches pull in for winning the team title?
Pretty sad that it is on the "tres". But at least I can see it!
Ches leading with Oregon 1-2-3 so far. 600m into the race
Maton now leading. Seem to be taking turns. through 800m in 2 flat
Ches takes heat 1 in 3:59. Maton second in about 4 flat. Third Oregon guy fell off and got 7th. Josh Thompson in 3rd also at about 4 flat
Why would Ches push a sub 4 mile?? Bizarre
Ches ran a 1:54 last 800? Why?
4:01:02 is last time qualifier & we got two at that exact time. Putt 11 in final?
Hannah Cuncliffe....hmmm.
Ouch! Went to a thousandth second, Koech is out
Amen.

Rawson does too much homework. Knows each athlete's fav pasta dish! TMI but better than being unprepared. Dwight Stones doing a good job
Shamier Little is horrible.
