I do not think Centro can get those records.

I think Centro can get those records.
Of course he can get the record. He has already ran 3:30.xx and that is awfully close to both the 1500m record and also the conversion is close to the mile record. He clearly was in the best shape of his life last year. He will be doing 5ks so his strength will be up so that he can maintain that fast pace. There is no way he doesnt break the records.
Centro isn't a miler. He might be able to win a US championships but won't be able to step up with the big boys on the world stage and win a medal in the mile.

Well, this might be true, but only because the OG/WC have the 1500m and not the mile.
But he ran 50.0 final 400 in the Olympic 1500??? Won't 100 mile weeks kill his speed???

No. Centro will be running most of this at MAF.

Why would 100 mile weeks kill his speed? Please elaborate.
If Centro can get either of these records then he can make the case for the GOAT American 1500m/miler.
He has already made a case for GOAT American miler.
If he gets either record, it's case closed. He's it.

Interesting article in Washington Post. He wants U.S. 1500m and mile records. He wants to do some 5000m races next year. No I did not link article.
I guess if he said it, it must be true. But, I am very surprised to know he is running that type of mileage. That is a lot of mileage for a true MD athlete.

True, but if he does it for a couple months in his base phase, it might not be that much, especially as he is going to experiment with the 5000m.

No world record, can't regularly beat the top competition. You could possible argue that there has never been a great American miler in the past 25-30 years at least.

Um, he lost in the 5th Ave mile to Jenkins...a 5,000 meter runner!!
Junior Matthew is going to try to finally run faster than his father at 5000m.
His father's PR is 13:12.91, which was an American record at the time.
(He set the record while destroying Albuterol Androgel Salbutamol Salazar at the same time…which made it extra fun.)
I hope Matt can finally run faster than his father.
At this point, I think he is sort of embarrassed about it.
(On the bright side, Centro may be able to outkick Mobot with his 50.62 last lap speed.)
Take that SloMoNo!

Yes, if you do nothing for your sprinting speed. Use it or lose it. The mileage itself isn´t the problem, to some point at least, when speaking the speed of a distance runner. For 400/800 you won´t do that much mileage of course but the 1500m demands greater endurance, especially to be fresh after the heats. A good example of great champinships runner is Nick Willis, always strong in the finals, a lots of faster (sprinting speed) runners there but he´s still very strong in the last lap.

Alberto Salazar is not a doctor. It is illegal to dispense or administer a prescription drug to another person who does not have a prescription from a doctor for that prescription drug. In addition, Androgel is a schedule III controlled substance. Androgel is also a drug that is banned by WADA.
Alberto Salazar administered a schedule III controlled substance and prescription drug Androgel (testosterone gel) to his 2 subjects. The two experimental subjects were his two sons. The two sons did not have a prescription for Androgel.
Alberto Salazar has broken various federal and state drug laws when he did his "testosterone gel experiments" with his two sons.
https://www.drugs.com/pro/androgel.htmlhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/athletics/mo-farah/11694959/Alberto-Salazar-faces-fresh-doping-claims.htmlFrom Wiki:
In 1996, at the age of 37, as she qualified for the 5000 meters at the Atlanta Olympics, Decker became involved in controversy. A urine test taken in June at the Olympic Trials showed a testosterone to epitestosterone (T/E) ratio greater than the allowable maximum of six to one.[12] At the time of the positive test Decker was being coached by Alberto Salazar.[13]
Have a nice day.

Being fresh after heats has nothing to do with endurance. It has to do with saving energy during the heats. All that matters is your PR and how much slower your heat time is.

A better example is the Olympic gold medal winner:
Centro
Nick Willis has been trying to improve his strength by doing workouts such as a 4 mile tempo run followed by 6 x 600m and 4 x 200m at 7,000 ft. altitude:

Centro is very smart and speedy.
Nick Willis needs to spend more time training in Flagstaff to fix this unfortunate situation.
