Does anyone know if running during illness is actually proven to incease the duration of your illness. I absolutely hate having to take off, but my coach insists that its been proven that runing while sick, keeps you sick for longer.

Dude don't run...lift weights do some ab work chin-ups pull-ups just don't run. What? "I'm going to lose everything"! That is a myth. I just recovered from a 10 day cold and about 8 days with no running just weights and boring stuff. My first day back felt great. It will help you in the long run. I tried running with Bronchidis...no spell check here but I ran sick and got sicker coughed so bad I pulled my rib muscle. This one football coach though I was dying.
Dude, I have just wasted 5-6 weeks by trying to run thru illness or by trying to come back from it too soon. I should have been out of action 2 weeks max. Just rest until you're completely better.
depends on what youve got...i had a bout of cold turn into bronchitus because i trained through it...got 2 weeks into the bronchitus before i shut down and went to see a doc. it really depends...dont do too much, get enough sleep and youll be fine...the hardest part for me is the lethargy.
