Nate Brannen was super emotional in the mixed zone breaking into tears. We talk about it in our 1500 recap:
But it reminded us, Nate fell at the Olympics in 2012 and didn't get advanced. That's how it used to work at the IAAF level. You didn't advance unless it was a foul. This time around, it's like how USATF operates, falling is almost an automatic advancement.
David Bustos got put into the 1500 final for falling with under 200 to and he was in terrible position. The joke is Robby Andrews instead of trying to push through the inside should have just fallen down.
I'm assuming the rules haven't changed but does anyone know exactly how this work. Is it just a result of a different jury of appeals?
