People on here really need to follow the above link.
AT least Catman, JasonIN.... et al
Interesting article there Clay.
Most of it is what I suspected it would be, and many of the lessons taught are ones that I have learned over the last couple years of message board posting (I've only been doing it for a couple years). I could do my part though and not respond to them as much. I will work on that.
Here's one part in the article I found interesting - "Trolls crave attention, and they care not whether it is positive or negative. They see the Internet as a mirror in which they can gaze in narcissistic rapture."
I agree pretty much with that statement, but it can't be 100% correct, because most posters crave POSITIVE attention from other posters, and that doesn't make them trolls - or does it? I say no.
It seems to me that link defined a TROLL rather narowly..
"An Internet "troll" is a person who... tries to start arguments and upset people."
I guess this is the main type of troll that can be encountered... An example would be Ah Come to Help, trying to upset people by telling them the sport is useless...
But what about all the trolling that is done by characters such as the original jasonlover (that was not me, I'm glad to say) and his nusiance posting: "Who is more of a troll, Ritz or Webb?"...
I would certainly not be tempted to try to upset people. But I might want to annoy the people on the board adnauseum by telling them that they are Letsrun STUD material for this reason or that. By the Flagy, I do love your style, you pay be a candidate yourself...
And I'd also like to post many threads about Jason, everyday. JAson *sigh*...
What kind of troll does this make me?? Uhoh.. I think I'm seeking some of that negative attention right now.
Oh just don't tell me I'm a troll that can't spell. I just type too quickly... I need more original negative feedback than that...
the moment i saw,"He tries..."
is that a discrimination to men?
The person who wrote in that website is actually the real troll. That 'person'(not a he or she) already upsets us, most males.

jasonlover,
While describing me as a STUD is never wrong, (and I don't think you meant anything by it) but certainly Jason seems to be a better object of your affection. For me, I'm a married guy and you are of course way too young for me even if I weren't. However, I will take you comment simply as a compliment and say thanks. I'm glad you like my style.
I still haven't decided if you are real in you professed love of Jason or not. If it is all an act, then I say props to you too.
Flagpole, this was not the negative feedback I was so desperately seeking... No, really, I will try to not become too troll-like in my posting. I'm sure it would get tiring to read in a while and I don't want to have a hand in digressing on the very good threads that occasionaly appear and thus messing with the integrity of the board in general.
All you guys that have such a mastery of rhetoric are STUDs in my eyes. I love to read a good discussion.
No need to question my love of jason...it is the most true thing I know.
jasonlover,
Trust me, I knew what you meant.
I must believe though that your love for Jason is all an act, but props to you for keeping it going.
Just felt like bumping this thread back up.
Seems like Catman et. al. hasn't taken it to heart yet.
Can trolls be phyically pretty people?
