Thanks Montano.
Thanks Montano.
Confirms her 1:57 in time trial last year. What a babe. Great race by Sharpe as well.
Great run by Molly in Monaco to put the disappointment of Trials behind her.
Congratulations to Molly.

Huh? I just watched the race and it looks like Martinez, who could barely keep her self up in the 1500, randomly hopped in front of Montaño which caused a crash Ludlow had to avoid costing her a Olympic spot. It's a real shame that Martinez gets to go to the Olympics after that, and Ludlow stays home.
Too bad that the falls in the Trials final snapped her momentum in that race. She looks really fit this year.
Do times from mixed races count in the record books?
no sub 8 today
Do you mean mixed gender races? I don't think so. So does that Molly's time won't count?
So Ludlow just ran faster than Semenya ran at Doha and the African champs....doesn't look good.
As Rowbury and others pointed out, REAL women should not have to compete with athletes who are genetically superior. I guess we need to add Ludlow to that list as well.
We were told that turning a blind eye to what was happening would lead to more of these types of issues, it's a shame it has extended to the US ranks.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not...
Are you serious?
The race was mixed-up, not mixed, so her time is safe.
Just merged 3 threads into 1 (including one ripping Molly). I thought I started a thread entitled, Molly MF Ludlow. Guess I never hit send.
I think today's run was amazing for her. I also thought psychologically she wasn't get top 3 at USAs. This seems to confirm it to me. No way should she have lost to the Arkansas runner.

You should really seek treatment for your traumatic brain injury.
she is quite the talent, having set her school 200m and 400m records as a freshman in high school, then skipped track for two years to play soccer. She returned to track as a senior but got a soccer scholarship to Indiana, a top flight program. A knee injury knocked her off the team and she then joined track as a sophomore in college, dropping below 2:00 in 2010. In 2013, she lost another year due to a (the?) knee injury, and then in 2015 finally got down to 1:58. With male pacers the whole way in the another one of these setup fast races, she could well get close to Jearl Miles-Clark's 1:56.40 record.
I see her running on the Indy downtown canal sometimes. That's what canal running will do for ya!

I am getting treatment, but so far it hasn't been working.
A full second PR at 800? Definitely hittin the juice.

Jeez, I didn't realize Jearl Miles Clark ran that fast. Did she ever race the event in a world champs or olympic games? Wikipedia says she never won a medal in it. She did win a national championship in the 800m once though.
Semenya hit 700m and did an all out sprint. if you can do that in a 1:55 race and look so strong and in control, you can run 1:51/52. at least
i think she'll get her gold medal and never really show everyone what she's capable of because there is so much speculation
i'd love to see her run 1:49 in Rio, but she'll probably get to 200m and run fast to win. i don't blame her
chaos in T&F!
