Bummer
Michael was going to run Portland Track Fest in the HP 1500 originally, so when I didn't see his name in the results I figured they shut down his season or he was banged up.
It's probably not the worst thing in the world for him. It allows him to shut down his season and enjoy his summer before Penn State.

Yeah, cos every high school kid on a roll wants to shut down their season.

Yeah c'mon. You think he didn't want a go at Drew Hunter. Cause I sure as hell bet he did.

Yeah, Slagowski and his coach are actually pretty mature about his development and how the season is going. Prefontaine was a so-so race (judging from expectations) and if he felt super tired and like he wasn't progressing, it wouldn't surprise me.
I find it strange how letsrun gives certain runners a complete pass. If this was Drew Hunter we would never hear the f*cking end of it about what a complete failure he was and how horrible his coach was.
I actually know his coach, and know of Michael through him. If Michael was healthy and progressing, he would be racing. Coach Hays hasn't talked himself and Michael up tremendously like Tinman has, so I think people are more likely to view him in a favorable light.
two sub 4's and at least two 1:48s. That is a very successful season. Wrapping it up allows him time to get healthy and be ready for fall training. I hope he runs xc.

Yeah, pretty sure he alluded to the fact that he would have run the mile at Brooks had Hunter run the mile and that he would be open to race Hunter if Hunter would agree to a race.
Makes you wonder if Hunter said no to Slagowski getting into Bowerman.... or if Nike did it sua sponte because of the choice to go to Penn St/ wanting to use Bowerman as an inducement for Oregon signees?

No, Drew gets a pass no matter what. You must be new here. Or a Drew nuthugger. Or you're Drew himself.

Perfect for a prospective Penn State runner. Run great in April and May and shut it down in championship season
Yup - Just like Penn State was the only school to have finalists in the 800 and 1500 at the NCAA meet including a freshman running 1:45 to place fourth. I guess it should be a compliment because it used to be they only ran fast in Jan, now they run great in April and May too - thanks!
