Yes he got it last year.

I also freight. I freight train. Please don't say which train I'm on.
Somebody said Nick Symmonds sounded like an owl.

LOL. clearly an autocorrect thing.

It's that lonesome freight train whistle.
Who actually thinks Nick's gonna make the Olympic team?
Likely the only race he wouldn't have had to cover the tattoo. #bingeon

He doesn't actually care about using the tattoo to advertise for TMobile. All he wants to do is advertise Nike Symmonds and the anti USATF and anti NIKE agenda, which he accomplished already.

I do. I trust that he's prepared himself well. How many times has he won the US Championship?
ha - he actually refers to himself as a "business man" in one of his video interviews. He's NOT Meb - and is NOT a brand. Nobody cares about him. He should prob begin to reflect on what he's going to do for work for the next 40 years. Start sending those resumes, Nick!

He is the 6 time national champion, he has 4 top 6 finishes at major championships and a world silver, he has run a 1.42 and 10 1.43s. No one else has even half the experience he has. He may not win the trials this year, but I will be very, very surprised if he doesn't make the team.

He's done nothing this season to indicate he will make the team, but for the reasons above I would not be surprised if he does. Although, he is off to one of his worst starts ever...so I would also not be surprised to see him not even make the final. He's a wildcard at this point.
By this time of year he usually has a 1:44 at Pre and a 3:36 or so 1500m from Oxy. Even last year he had a sub 4 mile before nationals. This year he has a 1:47 and a 1:48. He usually races often to make some money and get some exposure. He scratched from his last race. It's only a few weeks until the trials. The training he posts on Sweat is fantastically unremarkable (except for one workout of 3x400m). He stopped posting his training last week. He posted he has a "sore ankle" on his social media as the reason for scratching from the Portland 1500m. He's clearly struggling with minor injuries parenting him from doing the training and racing he needs to make this team. Another American won world indoors 800m and the Pre 800m this year. A young talent won NCAA in 1:43. I wonder if Nick has the balls to run nationals on a clearly less-than-ideal preparation.
He was once Nike and Eugene's golden boy and fan favorite. Things are very different this year. He's almost an antagonist in this 800m plot now. That's a lot of pressure added to the dent to his confidence about his current form.
If he doesn't race before the Trials he won't make the team. That's my prediction. If he gets one race in and it is sub 1:47, I think he'll make it.
He's outspoken enough and knowledgeable enough that I think he could make a good announcer for track and field - our John McEnroe

I'll bet you $5000 symmonds won't even be top 5 at the trials.

So he usually runs 1:44/3:36 in his buildup, and people are talking about a guy with slower *lifetime PRs* (Murphy) as potentially making the team? Nice logic.
Yes, because he's coming into the trials with the kind of form Nick usually arrives at the trials in. Nick unfortunately isn't in 3:36 or 1:45 shape.
