This looking around and looking back thing he does is a really bad habit that's going to haunt him in the future.
He does it too much and too frequent.
Why would a guy who dominates to much be looking around so much?
cocky or low confidence?

"So do I have to kick harder or can I jog it in? No one for 10 meters? Cool, I'll keep coastin'" - thoughts of a runner who doesn't want to work harder than he needs to win.
HaHaHaHaHa So funny to see you Oregon/Chez haters taking one up the ying yang....THE KING IS ALIVE AND WELL AND THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!![
Not as annoying as Farah.
Yeeeezzzzzzz!
Actually, people who complain about a guy who just wins all the time are annoying. People who win races all the time are a pleasure to watch. People who whine and whine about winners on the other hand...
The guy's a jerk. The way he dissed his teammate Jenkins last year was inexcusable. When he got passed in the Pepsi 5000 he just shut it down because his ego is too huge to be seen racing all the way to the finish in second place. Yes, his constant looking back is weird. And finally, Pre wouldn't like his racing style one bit.
Cocky, without a doubt!
Congratulations, America. He'll be a US citizen before you know it, hoping to replace Lagat, or perhaps your son, on the USA 5000 team.
Mo in training

Things Letsrunners don't have:
- Girlfriends or wives
- The testosterone to reproduce
- Thr talent to father Olympians

who cares what Pre would like, Chez would wipe the floor with him without even cracking a sweat. Chez is a once in a generation type of runner, sit back and enjoy it motha lickas
Incredibly annoying. The looking back and fixing the jersey all the freaking time. Just run the freaking race.

You mad bruh?
I'd say there is a very high chance that no one is over 16-17 on this thread.
Once in a generation talent? Maybe in the NCAA, but not out in the real world.
Gebrihwet and Kejelcha aren't even once in a generation talents.
I don't understand the point of constantly racing people a level below you, unless you know you are too slow to cut it with the pros.

It kind of makes sense actually if you think about it because what else is he going to do? He's not currently competitive on a global level and beating up on NCAA scrubs will be the height of his career.
Since he's not an American his future is basically just like Lawi Lalang's - just another run of the mill 13/27 5k/10k Kenyan. Nothing more than a heat filler on the circuit and once he graduates he'll fade into obscurity.
He seems like a nice guy and I do congratulate him on his accomplishments, but his charade has gotten tiresome to watch and I think it's unlikely he'll be missed.

This is something I've always wondered. Let's say, all told, he gets scholarship, some free meals, free clothing, and free tutors. That's worth no more than 60,000 dollars. With his talent and ability to race so often, he could have a contract as lucrative as Berian's.
I'm guessing that he's chilling in the NCAA ranks so that he can cement his place in history in at least one thing and waiting for American citizenship before he turns pro.
I agree with you, also he could be staying in college to complete his education. reporters are always saying he is in the honors college or whatever and him coming here from kenya to get a better education was a main goal of his i believe. He is so close to finishing school why quit now?
He's a college kid going to college & competing in the collegiate ranks - but yeah let's have some morons inform all of the real truth and try to minimize his accomplishments (b/c college isn't the real world as everyone knows, it's where jerk-offs pretend like they know everything while not having a clue).
Cheserek won his 15th title in track/xc, currently tied for most all-time. Next year he will likely add another 4-6 titles and put the record so far out of reach that it will likely be safe for many decades to come. But that's not an accomplishment - I'm sure Chase Vincent has done much more.

You are working under the assumption that people don't just go to Oregon to run. According to Letsrun, everyone at UO is stupid and doped. To think that a talented Kenyan cares about education is beyond LRC, because Ches is at the top and LRC hates that.
I actually agree with you guys.
Training in the collegiate system may not be the most optimal training in the world, but for anyone other than the very best of the best coming to the USA, running in college and possibly getting US citizenship is much better than staying in Kenya.
Cheserek may not reach the athletic heights he might if he was in Iten doing nothing but train, but his life will be massively better for running in the NCAA.
Its easy for us with our middle class jobs to be concerned about maximizing your athletic performance, but its a life/career for some people.
