link?
Did she look relaxed?
Is that a PB for Flanagan?
Not sure if San Diego Half is record regal, but great time nevertheless.
Her previous best was 1:08:30.
Yes...nice time. Looks like a PR for Scott Smith (1:02:35). Nice time.
She is training like a Gold Medalist.

Net elevation drop of 246 feet, so it's not close to record quality. Too bad, because the start and finish aren't much more than one mile apart, and it seems that it would be easy to change to a record-quality course that ends closer to the start in Balboa Park, but I assume that the market for this kind of event prefers a faster course. Shalane's PR remains 1:08:31.
Man, talk about bouncing back....she looked like Last Rites material at the OTs, now in PR shape, beating Cragg by two minutes.
Notice?
Shalane didn't wait for you.
Next time, don't wait for her.

Shalene (sic) Flanagan: 1:13:33
Too fit too soon????
Notice? One event was a trials, one was effectively a final. Learn your sport kid.
I'd hardly call the RNR Half a "final". It was a tuneup race for both and I'm sure that while top 3 was the main concern in LA, each would readily admit that victory at the US Trials is more meaningful than a run of the mill RNR Half.
PR at 34 years old.
Nothing to see here.. .move along.

If this Nike athlete ran for the other coach in town this board would be going nutz.
Especially with her thyroid and TUE history and controversial blood platelet transfusions..
