Kebede is one of my favourite runners, but sadly I think his best days are behind him.
Also add to the above he was only 9th in Berlin 2014 (2:10:27 ... after 25k in 1:14:02).
3rd in London 2014 (2:06:30) seems to be his last good result.
Overall the field for Rotterdam seems a bit weak. The two headliners are guys with fast PRs, but neither of whom have touched those times in awhile now,
Then you have Worku (2:05:25, but no sub-2:07 in 4 years now), Kiptoo (2:06), Mwangangi (2:06:13), Kisorio (2:06:33), Rutto (2:06:34), and Getachew (2:06:49).
No one like a Mosop or Kipchoge to headline this year.
It's amazing though that a field with two 2:04 guys, a 2:05 guy, and a handful of 2:06 guys could be considered on the weaker side now.
I'll be interested to see how Abshero fares as well. I remember reading he was in great shape for Dubai, but was a last minute scratch due to the flu or something.
It's a shame Ethiopia didn't select Kebede for London 2012, back when he was probably in his prime. Hopefully this year they use some discretion and don't simply take the 3 fastest times (which would again most likely be the top 3 from Dubai).
