What a race.
Centro ALMOST got beat but came back on Andrews at the last second.

WOW! That was a crazy sweet kick by Andrews! The best runner won, but I did not expect him to have to fend off a kick like that.
I can't say that I am surprised. That race played out in Andrews' favor. There is no one more fun to watch than Robby Andrews with 200 to go. Centro is the master technician but Robby has talent in spades. The gap is narrowing.
Centro's the "master tactician". Yet he puts self in position for no better than 3rd-4th with 200m to go in the biggest races.

He runs up to his ability in the biggest races. It's not like he loses to guys with slower pr's.

If you're consistently finishing in the medal positions, of THE BIGGEST RACES, against THE BEST IN THE WORLD, I'd say you're a master tactician. Perhaps not the very best in the world, but you don't need to be world #1 to be a master.
can we make it a rule you're not allowed to post these without a VOD
anyone have a video link?
USATF understandably didn't take the camera off of the pole vault during the whole race.
Bob Kick Bob does it again.

USATF.TV by contract could not show anything but the field events after NBCSC opened their TV window
While I think their broadcasts need a lot of work you can not blame them on this issue.
Ah didnt know that.
I had no problem with them not taking the camera off pole vault, the competition was absolutely insane. I think I heard an announcer say Sandi vaulted a #3 all time

Felt Cory Leslie deserved a mention. He was on top of Centrowitz and actually jump started the race trying to take the lead a couple different times, but Centro accelerated the attempts every time.
I love watching Robby when his game is on. Hopefully he will continue to improve and gain consistency, as it would be great to see him become a threat on the international level, as well as create a great rivalry with Centro for years to come. Hard to believe he is just 24 years old, as it feels like he's been around forever.

Did Robby kick just a bit too early i wonder? If he had gone maybe a little later wonder if he would have won that? I assume he had the fastest last lap regardless.

Hard to say I think Centro would have covered it regardless. I do think Andrews could learn a lot about tactics from Centro, however. By the way Robby runs tactically, he needs to exert much more energy to achieve his objective than Centro.

It was a 3:48 race that kicked down to 3:44. Robby being a former 800 guy should have been jogging at that until the last 150 meters. Not sure any gap has closed until we see them in a 3:30-3:33 race. Remember Andrews beat Wheating indoors for 800 when he was a frosh, and Wheating was an 800 OLYMPIAN! A kick race on the boards is his wheelhouse.
But that could be great for indoor worlds if it is a slower race. He has the kick to medal potentially. He also could do well outdoors in a final if it's a 3:38-3:42 type win. If he can get down to 3:31-3:32 it will be fun. Hope Wheating can get back there outdoors as well.
OMG. The Robby Andrews bro-love is sicking on LRC. Always has been. I swear he must give "Suzy Favors" to many posters here. He got second in a slow indoor race. I have seen him run many stupid races in the past. But he does one little thing and this place goes nuts.
This is the opposite of the Galen hate. Galen has a bleeping silver Olympic medal. Robby has ??? So call me when he does what Galen did. Then the Rob-love will have some basis in fact.
learn the difference between respect and eros. He gets respect for nearly outkicking a 3:50i world silver and bronze medalist. Centro is so smooth that all you see in the kick is a little tension, very effective but I think that Andrews would have his number in a race like this if he knew that position is everything with a lap to go.
