I always wondered about them. Shoot, and I've donated to them, too.
Ouch.
A "fake scam"? You mean they're for real?

Who do they think they are? United Way?
Why is there a need for this charity anyway? The govt spends close to a trillion dollars per year on "security" yet cannot take care of the cannon fodder that gets maimed?
Treating wounded US Marines and wounded former federal employees as a cash cow is treason.
Yep. Always be skeptical. Look at the Komen foundation. How much of that money goes into research? Remember Livestrong?
Most any place that promises to take your money and then do good with it is really just looking at a way to skim off the top and toss the peanuts to a few cases they can then exploit to bring in even more money.
Churches have been doing this for centuries, it's an old game, but an effective one.

Be skeptical, but there are plenty of good charities. Just check them out. There are lots of resources-

took me a second but...damn that was funny. and so true. but don't worry, they'll never make the connection, even though it's hilariously obvious in hindsight (and perhaps foresight).
What does it mean to be "a fake scam"? Are you saying that they pretend to be a scam, but they really aren't?

It could be worse. At least it's not an international pay for favors crime organization.
What a joke. I knew when that chicken hawk who never served as a grunt, Trace Adkins, started promotions.
There are many organizations with a mission of assisting combat wounded, injured and ill veterans and active duty personnel. Many vets have benefited from assistance given by Wounded Warriors. However I am also cautious of any high profile non-profit organizations.
The Department of Defense funds programs in each of the service branches for soldiers and sailors seeking to find their new normal. Since 2010 that has included the Warrior Games, an inter-service Paralympic competition between the branches.

Prince Henry took the lead in organizing similar sport between NATO nations. The first Invictus Games were held in London in 2014. Orlando, Florida will host the 2016 event.

Since becoming involved as part of coaching staff I have learned more about the physical and mental effects of military service. Please support those women and men that maintain our freedoms.

Only one out of every person in America serves as a US ground infantry assault combatant or has in the past served as a US ground infantry assault combatant.

Is it a rule that in every sibling business venture, one of the siblings must be an oafish dolt who's a bit slow, does mundane tasks and is maybe thought of kindly because he's not really "all there", while the other sibling trudges along, nose to the grindstone, actually making the business venture work?
And all this time I thought they were a real scam.

This is so true. Unbelievable. I have a High School friend who married a Marine and he broke his back in an IED. He has chronic pain (real chronic pain) and cannot work. He and his father opened a business and it is doing well, but the poor guy literally cannot get out of bed. He gets next to nothing from the government, gets shitted on by the VA and not his marriage is on the rocks. I feel so bad for the guy.
There are good charities out there. I know so many of you hate religious organizations, but Catholic Charities USA does such good work and they do a lot to help veterans.
