366 day running streak. 1 mile a day minimum.
2015 was a bust for me. Struggled with lower back and knee issues all year (just had the left knee scoped 20 days ago). I just want to be able to run consistently 4-5 days a week and one solid workout once a week.
One day you'll wake up and you realize you're old!
Sub 4:25 mile, sub 9:35 2 mile
Complete my first half marathon (ideally sub 1:20).
And maybe maybe my first marathon. I would need to be confident in a BQ though to try it.
Set some "old man PRs"
Sub 18 5k (lifetime best is 16:28)
1:25 half
2:55 marathon.
Also MAYBE find some speed again and run a sub 60 400. (52.4 is my best... 17 years ago when I was a medicore 800/1600 guy).
Win Boston and New York marathons.
I ran less than 600 miles this year. I'd like to quadruple that for 2016. Even tripling would be very nice.
Only problem is one of motivation. Wasn't injured and had plenty of time. Just lazy.
Sub 15:00 5k. Injuries have derailed me for much of the past 4 years, so I'm hoping this is finally the year I get to take a few good shots at it. Heading into indoor track with the best base I've ever had in my life, so if there was ever a time to do it, this is it.
PRs at any other distance would just be icing on the cake, but the focus is 100% on 5000m.
1. Get my final surgery the first week of Feb
2. Focus on rehab hardcore. This will include 2x week of aqua therapy and 1x week of manual therapy, initially.
3. Walk a 5k
4. Run a mile
5. Run 2 miles
6. Stretch goal - run a 5k (low pain to pain free)
7. Stretch goal - run low mileage 3x per week
8. Get back to cross training pain free 4-5x per week
Get back to running at least 40 miles per week without Achilles, back and leg pain

Wow, that bites. Can't imagine how much it would suck to be that far from even healthy enough to run. Good luck dude.
sub 15:35 5km and 32:30 10km in the track
Also sub 9 at 3000m if I get the chance
Be 68 in January. Would love to get under 21:59 5k. Lots of nagging injuries over and over and over and over and over and over again in this age grouping might say "NO" to that, though. Sigh!!!!!!
Track 2016:
4:50 mile
10:30 two mile
Cross County 2016:
Sub 16:30 for the 5k or sub 16 for the 3 mile
2:50 marathon
Sub 16 5k
Reduce injuries by adding in some strength and cross training
Be returning champ at my turkey trot (this should be my #1 goal)
Thanks, man. It's been a hell of a year. I'm in so much pain that I can't even sleep. Was running 85+mpw for 2 years until Dec. of 2014, when I decided I had to stop running and get my leg fixed. 3 surgeries in, hopefully only 1 more to go. 2015 was not good to me.
have fun with that one wrote:

Good goals everyone. To all of you who struggled with injuries this past year, I hope 2016 is better than 2015.
Disappointing 2015, but starting to look really good in winter base so far.
Track 2016:
Sub 10 in 3200
Sub 4:40 in 1600
XC 2016:
Qualify for state in XC
Be able to run around low 16s
Main goal is just to get to where I want to be and running fast in late October and early November for XC
Break 4 year old 800m PR which is 1:58. Graduating this spring.
As someone above said coming into indoor with the best base of my life (50 mpw plus sprinting and lifting twice per week). Racing a mile in about a month but first 800 isn't until march.
No idea what my goal is after track season is done. If I pr then I will try and race a lot and just have fun with my fitness at all comers meets this summer. If I'm still looking to pr then I'll probably train hard into the summer and try to get it at an all comers meet as unlikely as that is. Take some time off on August and then start base training for 2017 track in September (assuming I still want to race track which I see happening at this point).
