We have been supplied a chance to get the
Chicago Marathon on national televison by
emailing NBC.(Takes less then 2 minutes to find)
Yet, noone is willing to take time out and e-mail
the station! I have supplied all the information
in the thread: MUST READ FOR EVERYONE:
Hundreds of you constantly moan and complain about
lack of exposure to track/marathon, but do nothing
about it! Please go to the original message
email them and post under the original message!

try and help promote our sport! It would
be nice if you guys and girls at least tired
to do something, just take 2 MINUTES and follow the
instructions and then go back to whatever you

No offense man but this whole reaks of those silly highschool petitions that a bunch of bored activist types would rig up to get attention. A couple track geeks (a generalization that does not necessarily diclude myself) sending emails to some NBC account is as likely to cause a nationally televised marathon as is everyone clapping their hands in unison bringing tinkerbell to life.

I'm assuming that the general population of frequent vistors to letsRun.com message forum range (mostly) from 18 - 30 year olds. Of these people many are serious runners and run because they love the sport, the people they meet and the races they participate.
Since Boston and New York have been televised in the past, what makes Chicago out of the realm of possibility? It's not! So, that's why WE are doing it. Here's a suggestion: If you love the sport, do something for it. But please don't us what we can and can't do.
This guy, whoever he is, just asked for a little help. He's trying to do something for sport. Am I correct when saying that your post is telling us that we should just give up? Quit? No hope in sight huh?

That's 2 hours plus of tv time. How much money can NBC make in that time with commercials, etc? If they ain't got the sponsors to pay for the time, they ain't going to show it. It's all about the money, folks.
