is she Kenyan?
Banned by Athletics Kenya per the twitter story, so my guess is yes.
Bump--this is a big fish.
Maybe even more relevant for US athletes, Lilian Moraa Marita, the EPO positive, is from the Hebron, KY group of athletes that have been on everyone's watch list for some time.

Good spot.
A bunch of articles are popping up now. Has anyone read where/when the samples were taken, or which NADO processed the results?
And to broaden the spotlight, Emily Chebet trains with Sandra Chebet, Mercy Cherono,
She is coached by Gabriel Kiptanui. Represented by International Athletics Consultancy (IAC).
This is great. The floodgates are opening
Does Renato have any comments on the story being a Kenyan insider?
Seven Kenyans, including two-time World Cross Country champion Emily Chebet, were suspended on Friday for taking performance-enhancing drugs.
It feels like the Letsrun owners are coming down heavy on Russian dopers and Seb Coe and IAAF - but staying silent on Kenyan doping.

It's called Thanksgiving buddy. We are enjoying time with the family. We put stuff up about Paula, went to the beach for 4 hours and now see the story broke. For the first 13 years of the site, the messageboard was always where big news broke and we did a big front page update at night. The big front page update still happens at night but normally we'll get to breaking stories mid-day - if it's not one of the slowest days of the year.

This feeds your theory that two wealthy Republican brothers are biased against white people?
Interesting. That's pretty big news - Chebet is not exactly a household name, but a 2X World Cross Country champion is serious business, and another crack in the facade that is Renato Canova's claim that it is only the small-timers in Kenya who use PEDs.
The article says that Chebet and a couple of others were busted for furosemide (aka Lasix). I'd never heard of that drug in a PED context before, but apparently it is commonly used by athletes (illegally) for both its diuretic effects, and to mask other drugs. Here's an entry from the 2010 British Journal of Pharmacology that gives some useful information about it:

Emily is actually coached by her husband, Edward Muge.

Here is a statement from Chebet's agency. http://www.letsrun.com/news/2015/11/statement-agency-represents-emily-chebet-doping-positive-emilys-adverse-analytical-finding-aaf-first-aaf-clients-international-athletics-consul/She was represented by the late Zane Branson. She is the only athlete they've every represented to test positive.

I met Emily after Kenyan National Trials for 2015 World Championships in Athletics and we have discussed this heartbreaking development and Emily communicated shock and confusion, with sabotage or medical negligence being mentioned as potential explanations, especially as Emily was on medication for toothache and strong headaches at the time of said out-of-competition test.
– – During following months we were not able to learn anything that will provide any sort of explanation or context for said AAF and subsequent sanctioning.
– Emily’s AAF is first and only AAF for any of clients International Athletics Consultancy works with-and-for.
From the Guardian:
"The sanctions mean that 43 Kenyan runners have been banned for doping since 2012.
The World Anti-Doping Agency announced last week that Kenya is already being investigated by the IAAF for alleged doping cover-ups since last March."
43 in 3 years, and Kenya is being investigated for doping cover-ups - Nice!
I thought it was good for running, 1968 when Kenyan runners did so well, Olympics. Up until then physiologists, MDs, biologists were writing books stating blacks were inferior in distance running. If there are some dirty Kenyan runners, bust them. Bust all drug cheats. I'm sick of people currently writing books and quoting books stating Kenyans run better because some Kenyans from one or more tribe tend to have longer than average humerus & femurus bones.
