anyone know if that dude was a rabbit for her, or just trying to win? he appeared to be trying to pace her, and didn't exactly push to the finish.

i took some splits from the video
(adjusted for my reaction time already)
45.88, 63.91, 63.01, 63.51.
no wonder the rabbit got away from her on the last lap, he probably expected her to run a 61 or so.
in monaco, with pretty much the same distance of pacing from dibaba, she split:
44.84, 61.86, 64.07, 65.23
It seems silly to work so hard so close to Worlds.
Will this help or hinder the Americans' shot at the podium?
Work so hard? She ran a great effort. She is attempting to peak at 3:52-shape for Worlds and ran 3:56. That is a hell of a confidence booster.
My only concern was her K-Taped hamstring/adductor. Obviously, it had to have felt good for her to run 3:56, but if I have a minor injury, I may be focused on healing that up 100% instead of attempting a 100% effort.
The difference is that she was gassed at the end in Monaco, but looked pretty fresh at the end here. It's going to be tough for Jenny or Shannon to get the silver unless they are prepared to run sub 3:58 in a championship race.

Someone posted the difference in her splits between Monaco and this race.
The reason she was so lactic in Monaco was because she went out so fast.
This race was a much more even effort.
The end results from both races was a 3:56.
I wouldn't say that she looked "pretty fresh" after this effort. She was grimacing with 100 to go and bent over to recover after the race.
It was a hard effort.
And I agree that the tape on her leg is a bit worrisome.
Both Shannon and Jenny have fun under 3:58 this year, so I don't see why that would be a problem at the World Championships.
Shannon looked very strong in Monaco and had a fantastic finish. Hopefully she has maintained that level of fitness over the past few weeks and comes out ready to roll in Beijing.
Jenny didn't look as convincing in Monaco, but she is a strong athlete and may very well be at her best in Beijing.
Dead heat between her, Jenny and Shannon.
Sifan has horrible armswing though, like a marathoner at best. For that reason she is vulnerable over the last 50m if JS or SR can catch her by then.
I also think she is doping, along with Schippers and Herzog. Netherlands has little history of track success, and now all this. Ethio ex-pats are all very suspect, whether they end up in Sweden, Turkey, Bahrain, or whereever.

More unfounded allegations of doping. Not a shred of evidence. Yawn.
Hassan and Dibaba are dopers!!!!!!
They are 6 to 8 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. WAKE YOU MORONS! THEY ARE DOPING!!!!

I don't think Hassan is automatically a doper because of a 3:56. I like the fact that she tried to go with Dibaba and she's believing she can get down into the low 3:50's.
Jenny ran 3:59 in college. I would hope she too could get down into the low 3:50's and improve 5 or more seconds since college. I'd like to see more 1500 meter women run like 4:00 isn't some sort of magical barrier (without doping, of course).
Dopers, Dibaba is indeed 6 Sec ahead of Rowbury and Hassan
Rowbury Also ran 3:56 remember.
Hassan was no more then 0.3 sec faster as Rowbury.
So if Hassan is Doping then you can also question Rowbury.......
Schippers I believe is clean, why can't a ( white ) women sprint?
She is stil behind a lot of women from other countries.
Likely an intersex.

You're talking about Foekje Dillema.
She said she wanted to go 3:52 according to Alberto Stretti on twitter.

Damn and she wrecked a bunch of dudes in that race too

.
What does armswing have to do with being vulnerable in a footrace???

Only Dibaba is ahead of the field. Hassan is 6s behind Dibaba.
Whether she is Dibaba or Didoper...I have no opinion yet.

I'm not sure but her upper body motion is really odd. She seems very stiff and out of kilter with her upper body working at cross purposes to her lower body. It does seem most noticeable and more of a hinderance at the end of a race.

She has nearly 3 weeks before she races at worlds; btw, most athletes will doing some sort time trial or race simulation this week.
